"What thing do you like most/least about it?

I love the speed and accuracy of each of these features turntables, pioneer in terrible it works there's nothing to say. Regarding the screen, I mean small but adequate. Otherwise in terms of automatic loops I agree with the other they are rarely successful, it is better to make a loop on the fly and adjust quickly to the worst point of entry or exit. It would have been cool to have in place but hey hot cue should not ask too much, it's still the replacement for the CDJ-800. I forget to mention the USB, though I'm a fan of the CD is really very handy to be able to connect its key or a small hard drive, plus it works flawless.

-What is your opinion about the value for the price?

Sure pioneer still expensive, especially for me who has invested in 2 CDJ-850 DJM 700 and a ca flycase while knowing it is a passion and I want to improve myself in the mix just because I love it. But hey if you love it does not count and for me it is the top so I do not regret the investment knowing that I am very satisfied with these plates!

-Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice?

Yes outright. For someone like me is the top, aiming for a pro CDJ 900 see 2000 following the budjet go for it if not for the 850, you will not be disappointed!

What thing do you like most/least about it?

MORE: So it's definitely a good turntable. It is super fast (more than the mk3, I tested) to load both cd mp3 cd that the usb key. Even my hard drive 500gb walking quickly but not reliably. Sensitivity is very good, I think the dial is the same as the adjustable Heavy 1000MK3. So for all that is put loops or cue is perfect. CUE and PLAY buttons are impeccable too, is short of PIONEER. The sound quality is at the appointment.
The screen is good, it uses more virtual buttons next and previous track, while at the wheel and you can walk on CDs to see what is going to post. Registering cue points and loops as is done on 1000MK3.

LEAST: The Auto-beat loop does not work reliably all, it's crass, it shifts from qqes frames directly, loops are not at all accurate, both done by hand (even with files analyzed Rekordbox).
Twice in the evening, they bugged on a cd, as if it was scratched! I tried again the next day at home, no worries, completely incomprehensible. And there's nothing worse than being afraid that hold the deck while reading the pieces! So I regravé my cds, checked my tracks, etc. ...
Then, I find it crazy that the CDJ850 is unable to read the Waveform in advance as 1000MK3 does. There are two ways to have the waveform: Scan All Rekordbox on and then play with USB. Then there is the solution for people like me who have lots of cds and have no desire to have only USB: turn the cds let pitched at 100% (to go faster ) at home a USB key inserted and in this case we have any. But I find it a little pathetic on the part of Pioneer djs so trying to impose the use of USB devices, but their plates are the queens of CDs.
It's really a shame not know how to set the hardness of the jog as the mk3.

What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Despite what I said above, I think for the first time Pioneer has released the turntables with excellent value for money, 900eur for such plates is crazy!
Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice?

I'm mixed. I think buying a pair of 1000MK3 opportunities for the same price as a pair of 850 Hot PCQ they provide cues that are far more interesting than the auto beat loop (I'm not saying if it worked, but there pq no it does not work not even), the fastest waveform, setting the jog, the proven reliability and proven!

Okay so the CDJ 850 is true to the brand reputation and especially the 800MK2. Or loading and recognition of CD fast jog pleasant to use, accurate.

Clear display, 3 lines for song titles, great!

Recognition of my two 8 GB USB immediately. The search for the tracks is so easy ergonomics.

I always liked to mix CDJ 800MK2, personally I find it faster and more accurate than the 400 see the 1000 MK3. Now with the CDJ 850 USB and I have a nice display and more. I think it is light too.

The little snag for me is the rapid advance fragm for MP3 files on USB but nothing nasty the CDJ400 does too.

For now I am very satisfied and really take a liking to mix!

- Touch pioneer, no difference from the cdj 1000.
- Responsiveness and sensitivity of better than a jog CDJ 800 mk2. Level of 1000.

+ + Benefits

- USB very well managed. No bug even with a large hard drive.
- Rekordbox! Absolutely essential to move its entire library in its software pioneer. Long analysis but then used to prepare really well set.
- Display wave and mp3 tag very quickly if analysis rekordbox

Disadvantages:
- Requirement to scan files with Rekordbox for displaying the wave of the song.
- Obligation to connect a USB cradle for the display of the wave in CD playback. (I hope an update will solve this because it is very slow compared to a 1000 mk2).
- No safety in case of "pulling" wild usb
- Screen a little small (3-line display to get his pieces)
- Obligation to format the device as FAT32
- Color Gray
Not tested: HID mode and noon.

What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Good but still expensive ..... More expensive than a cdj 1000MK2 in 2005, however the top of the range at the time.

yes without hesitation because the product suits me perfectly. (Personal use)

Bought new since early September.
I had tried, cdj 100s, cdj 200, cdj 400, cdj 800 mk2, cdj 900 and CDJ 1000 MK3.
I am very happy, very powerful for mp3, no crash nor other individual, of course rekordbox use becomes essential .. pr optimal use of turntables.
Tested 6 hours club, just without cd key usb and hard drive, nothing to report, reliable product.
The whole mix is essential in this deck, a lil less for display. But its still correct and legible.
the price is too dear as always with Pioneer, but the quality and accuracy is o appointment.
with this choice I will ever experience without problem.

They are super ractivent, very specific on the loop in and out adjust is nice too, depending on USB and CD very fast

Compared with the 900 except the screen tilted ProDJ Link and they have nothing to envy

The +: jog very accurate, excellent vinyl mode, seamless loop, ergonomics of the beast, precise and pleasant screen, USB Management is really excellent, instantly read the USB
the - the price is always difficult to spend so much on a plate, but the quality is there. Too bad she is not black she would be in harmony with my table but I understand the marketing coup of pioneer

- What is so special that you like best?
USB (management incomparable with CDJ 400: 1000 Faith better), precision (not seen any difference with the 1000), waveform (as well as the 1000 mk3) rekordbox (really huge classed as music on the PC), fast (better than 1000MK3), playlist management live

- What is so special that you like least?
No waveform on the cd not scanned (such as 1000 and burning MP3), no hotloop (even a little would've been cool if the one received on a loop you lose)
gray! BPM without the decimal point (we will not make me believe that it is complicated to do!), no digital output

Automatic loop section is really sucks! even with my feet I'm better. When the music is very rhythmic is correct (and again) but when the music would do what a melody, it's great no matter what! How much is the same as its loop on 1000MK3.
The HID (MIDI) UNUSABLE! Traktor does not recognize them! serato either. VDJ soles of one switch with USB or CD (although personally I would use if the booster shot but it's complicated). Thus totally useless! We'll have to wake up at Pioneer and we lay the drivers that go to the output of platinum to a faith! it starts to become a habit!

"My advice:
Better than the 800, 400 without problem. Same quality workmanship that 1000MK3 but not the same niche (if you're only CD, stick with 1000, otherwise it's an evolution really !!!). Finally and in conclusion: not to buy to mix with a soft but very very good to mix mp3 (rekordbox is truly monstrous!) = Awaiting Update from Pioneer

To correct for an authentic pioneer. Some default, but really close to their upscale. I would do this biensur choice but I will still get me a pair of CDJ 2000 when I had enough!

I've had it a week.

I've had cdj 100s, 200, 400, 800 Mk2, Mk3 1000.

The CDJ 850 is as fast as the 800 or 400 for Mk2 read cds.
No worries with a USB drive (4GB tested), fast and clear in the information.

More finesse in the choice of pitch (6%, 10%, 16%, 100%), a 800 Mk2.
Otherwise, it is a more modern 800 Mk2 with a USB connection and software for use with rekordbox computer.

I have not seen any negative points, so to is the price.
I will do it again without hesitation choice.
For when we tasted the reliability and the pleasure of working for Pioneer, it does not change creamery.
