5w lamp, pure class A!

This is the same as the Epiphone Valve Junior (found on the printed circuit of the amp).

Change brings: a gain knob (very large), a 3-band EQ + booster acute.
Multiple changes of some condos and resistances (see reason in "tricks") + soon change output transformer.

USE

Over-simple setup ... a manual? or?
Son? No it was the problem in the original configuration, we get a clear sound very clean, but you have to push the bottom volume to saturate the beast. Hence the interest of adding a gain knob, to saturate low volume.

SONORITS

Frankly it's the slap !! Once the mods MADE, we get a sound very pleasant, a crunch die and maximum saturation of the lamp sound old rocker! Sharp attacks, very little breath, a clarity in the treble winded .. but in severe (hence changing the output transformer).
Coupled a Proco Rat, it sounds!
I'm not good guitarist, but nothing that I can produce sounds that make me want to play Seriously!

I play with a Fender Telecaster apartment, nothing to bring down the windows, but intertdcupl with mods. (Low volume saturation)
Why not add a third lamp? (See prsents advice on the internet and in the AF forum)

UTILIZATION

Hardly simple to use - no need to understand the manual!
One branch, one goes forward the sound and music

Beware the Tone is not really a! This is a filter that cuts low frequencies more or less bass. So do not expect to radically change the color with sound.
But we will not complain, the Valve Junior with this amp is a clone, do not even possde!

This is clearly orient vintage - it trsmdium hot stamp. The sound is clean with a Start up to about 13h knob. APRS apart crunch gradually with increasing volume. A base saturation, but we gain more volume.
Originally it is much of the good old rock and blues - but limit these styles ...
However, the addition of an EQ allows you to vary the color tone. The definition and dynamics are correct but nothing more. Not a pet blast or buzz.
In résumé: a good little bluesy sound good lamp. But my hand got in too fast and it's not empty crunch to get crystal-clear sound.

With this change + change by Telefunken EL84 is like night and day.
I really feel good to play on a Fender lamp. Dfine is, warm and dynamic. And I finally can be crystal-clear sound. Clean the volume is much higher - pushing the same shot below the threshold of saturation. What can I say except that the sound is excellent and rivals in terms of sound quality with amps that they are not worth 100 ... Compar a little amp prs equivalent, the Fender Pro Junior, the modified GA5 is suprieur. The modified GA5 Dfine is more crystal-clear and dynamic. The GA5 is just a bit less powerful than the Fender.
I also added a handy rglage gain.

Branch of a 4x12 cabinet Ibanez - Yes you read correctly, a 4x12 "! Is even better. Suprieure Diffusion good and a lot more safe. Unbelievable that this amp as well arrives driver like a 4x12 c 'silent a small bowl!

Question power compartment of the transistor, it is well worth a 25-watt ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've had three days. I t dballage to some of its sound dull and not at all hyper dynamic lamp Class But I t surprised by the volume that is saturated in my opinion sufficient to keep a drummer too nag. As for finishing, it is excellent for this price - guaranteed vintage look!

So I started in the modification of this amp. Looking for a more typical Fender, the original did not have ...
So Premire thing diffrent test lamps. Winning combination for me and 12AX7EH Telefunken EL84. Then pass by my store to buy some electronic components. Let a dozen components for ten euros and 2 hours of work by going there alone. I do not regret at all that change. For obtaining a good quality amp with such a small mod is well worth going out and slamming the soldering iron 10 by calling. Moreover, for those that have INTERESTED, there are mods Vox and Marshall among others. They are as simple couraging!

To conclude:
If you only play Blues / Jazz, the original amp for you. But it is better prvoir its modification ds purchase. Only after that the amp is modified rvle.

The GA5 is an all-tube amp delivers 5 watts of power.
- An Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 preamp in (enclosed by a cover shield) is a super light with a lot of gain, personal love.
- 1 Sovtek EL84 power "basic" I will soon change because I think it gives a loud dull, I think I will update when I get it changed.

2 pushbuttons:
- Volume: ben to adjust the volume! Starting at cruncher from 13H to my TV.
- Tone: allows you to add more or less bass sound.

1 input jack (AC would be better!) And a 4 ohm speaker output already connected to the hp original (unknown?)

The finishes are great for this price (€ 99) and gives it a '50s look of the amp! I love.

Super trim and not a single transistor, all for € 99 it's worth a 10!

UTILIZATION

2 buttons, setup could not be more simple!
I get my TV with super bluesy sounds (micro neck), although rock and twangy with the micro bridge.
A real tube sound! But lacks dynamic (hard funk).
The manual of a sheet, is more than enough.

SOUNDS

I use this amp with a tele lite ash (very good for that matter) and an ibanez GSA60 (a fatstrat ibanisée), all with a delay and a RAT2 behringer DD400.
Otherwise I play mainly U2, the Stones and a little bit of Queen (it's hard with a TV!).
This amp meets the great twang of my TV, great for the Stones!
It supports quite well the saturation due to my rat.
Its clear you can get super arpeggios like the intro to Sunday Bloody Sunday or to Where the streets have no name with a hint of delay.
The volume knob past 12 o'clock you can get a clear and crunchy just by varying the attack with the tab!

However the sounds are very dull and it lacks dynamics.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than three months, I love the look and finish great for its price.
This amp is probably better than all the transistors in its price range.
That, in my opinion the best value out there.

OVERALL OPINION

The only point I would make is that because of the intrt bte is pushing corner may need to be a tour of everything that vibrates, remove the plate with her first name, eliminate the vibrations of the fist, some collages and another to have fewer bzzzzoing. UTILIZATION

There's no simpler.
It immediately sounds pretty clean. Or modified without pedal, impossible to really cruncher or saturate. on the other hand, what dynamics! I finally understand how to play in tapping! It's simple: you touch the guitar: it sounds! I had never played on a tube amp, what strikes me is the sensitivity to the game, it brings inspiration immediately!
on the other hand can not imagine having a killer or a guitar hero: That's not it either. (Whatever that ... after amendment, to be seen ...).
My bass has never sounded better too! It's almost better than the guitar! Dynamics made really sound the slap! Even with old strings.
The pickups in single pass more I find, be it with the guitar or bass.
The manual we warn against the risk of electrocution, period. It's pretty confused about the ignition bypass the amp: There is an automatic timeout of 15s before playing.

SOUNDS

The sound is very typical, or rather, not versatile home, I hope to change that with some modifications.
The have tried it with a telecaster copy SSH and low J / P.
There are some noise inside the HP, which still sounds "boxy".
There is much more serious and less acute VOX my office. I have not tried other HP.
For cons, I realize that the tone color depends more on the cabinet that the amp puts it: My little Crate Powerblock it does finally come out not so bad: only lack the dynamics and "inspiration" (I definitely prefer the term "heat").

OVERALL OPINION

I have since yesterday, I will change the mind if I pass out the kustomiser. I found a Philips EL84 in the attic, which come from a radio receiver / turntable tube. I can not wait to test it.
€ 100 in toto for the power it has, that's fine.
The experience, I would have opened the beast, and I would say I would do if this choice.

Well, for the color beige, must love anyway!
