UTILIZATION

The drivers are stable: 9/10!
I use more often enristrer with a microphone for acoustic instruments such as Shaker, Tambourine: 10/10! & Also my voice: 10/10!

GETTING STARTED

Installation is no problem: you start taking an USB cable & then you connect it to the PC sound card & also & then its going well: 90/100! very well!
Often a little bored, it's potarts make noise when you decrease the sound, so when you increase!
This is just what the problem!
Alesis devraint put this problem to Potart! for the sounds!

Quality very good & solid!
Price: 180 Euro, it is still not very chére Alesis!
I do again my choice if Alesis, abort OF RULE potarts for her! 90/100!
In his otherwise cerais a Steinberg or Yamaha card!

I wanted my interface for recording Acoustic Guitar / Vocals / Bass, which it does perfectly. I also use at MIDI with an old Yamaha Clavinova and I've had no worries.

However, I just put myself on bass and then, using a DI and / or pre-amp is necessary.

UTILIZATION

No installation problems on XP and 7, it is recognized immediately. The io / 2 comes with Cubase LE 4, which enough for me. It is then possible to record two tracks simultaneously.

There is a lag time if you listen at the same time we record (this disables Cubase). But after no problems on the recorded track.

I get a max latency of 20 ms, which is quite modest in relation to my PC ...

GETTING STARTED

The installation is amazingly simple, USB 2.
The identification of connectors is clear, complete and well thought out. The cables do not cross in all directions and the interface installed on a desktop takes very little space.
I do not even know if there was a manual, I do not have to be tellemnt is intuitive.

UTILIZATION

Ease of use, instalation of the simplest, recognized not many soft music, but simple manual contains everything you need to know about the case and install it.

Stable and good drivers that latency does not get along with Nuendo, I get to about 10 ms (with asio 4 all) since I use my onboard sound card as output and input alesis.

OVERALL OPINION

I spent over an intensive week on the net to search the forums and user reviews before making my heart on this machine. I hesitated between a edirol UA25 (having been paying FA 101) and the alesis. the two characteristics of housing has quite identical and similar dimensions. I was very afraid that the preamps of the Alesis a little "light" and deal with edirol surprise Apers have completed testing on a folk guitar recording via a microphone Apex 435 in 32bit 96kHz on one and the other it appears that the alesis has a much more open and searched the FA101! Some say amazing but I kept the soundtracks for the skeptics ... The preamps are over the top as the FA101 medium which swells a bit serious and gum up the effect of making the room too "clean" and under living.

I use this box for three days non stop and I must say that this is a must (I have ready in a edirol FA-101 j'aprecie that much) and this case is not ashamed to face the biggest and dear to him. If you do not need two sound inputs for your recording, you do not record each microphone to a battery or a complete group with its set of 10 micro card it is for you. I used the multitrack poru where I record my instrument one by one and it's really ideal. Go for a sound card is gold!!

I use it for almost 5 years, almost always on the move and it never made me lurch.
That said, I've never used other external sound card, but I bought it after a solid study on the net (online shops, advice, forums ...) by comparing it with other models available at the time.
I remake that choice (even today, used) without any problems.
The price / quality ratio was excellent.
And do not forget, I repeat, Cubase LE (never planted under XP ...) comes with.
