So here in the field of miniaturization Zoom is doing well, because with this new tool trs Zoom hits hard. I just acqurir the mrs-8 and I am convinced dj.
24-bit 44 kHz for recording on an SD card, always clean with sounds for guitars, effects (internal microphone) voice attention!
But above all is the silence that rgne when you work. No noise DD fatigue ...
C really a good product with a variety of shipping to shake competitors.
8-track recording, always patterns bass / drums with adjustable pad sensitivity, simultaneous record two tracks, a system that friendly after all. Although the record .....
I think for the price there is no denying that.

UTILIZATION

Everything is relatively clear, the sound is good and well rendered.

SOUNDS

I can not give truly informed opinion on converters they are too small!
The effects are really good and rev your exact mix will surprise many.

I recently but I have inflicted no dj bontest endurance and well this little gem all my intrt. Voil c all, Thank you Mr. Zoom.

I have this recorder for several weeks. I dropped the multi-track recording (sold April 1 Pises K7). and waited for the 8-track affordable. The software solution, I test too, but it's hell of a connection and not walk anywhere forcment (even a laptop as opposed to ads that show young white beaks concentrated squatting to their mobile branch anywhere with the guitar in one hand and the MIDI keyboard to the other) + stability problem of crashes, the noise ...

It's all 8 tracks in a box! Just plug in the guitar, headphones for monitoring and 1,2,3,4 as saying the Ramones!
The multi purpose troubleshoots well even with the presets (you can also take the lead in the settings). Distortion, overdrive, flanger, chorus, delay ... The whole point is l. The drum patterns covering needs Varis (from metal to reggae through jazz and ska) and can CRER his (black crooked system, something I prfr tracker style .. .). It is even possible to play live on the pads with his small fingers (+ bassdrum snare on one track and a second outlet / track for a cymbal does!)
the sound is good despite a good digital signature.
making his voice, I have mixed feelings even if a lot of expected effects, with a view
preamp.
The only downside, the navigation menus diffreents is not obvious, it is better not not follow the manual to master the craft despite the backlit screen and we want to work on tracks stocks (punch in / out, cutting, copying and pasting, etc.). but it's doable and it is already good. Just a pity we can not put the card on PC and do its mix + adding effects on computer (with the multitude of software that was free ...).
I use the same object as a preamp chain (box reythme + bass + guitar effects easy toting!). Ideal for recording the ides flies!

Essay 4 tracks K7 solution info (with VST effects). 8 tracks that passed but will not be my only tool. Excellent pure demos, setting box ides, repeated recordings, retouching passages.

SOUNDS

The sound is really good value. I make homestudio for over 20 years and I bought the Zoom MSR-8 270 EUR on ebay and almost new. Use a good microphone (Shure Beta 87A BETA58 or better, a pre-amp [M-Audio DMP3 is really good value for money, watch it on ebay just to find o ca 150 EUR in France or Germany (m Voltage me - even made to jog - and the Germans are clean for biseness)] and you'll be amazed by the quality of the catch, especially if your budget is small - small.

OVERALL OPINION

I do a home studio + + + for over twenty years and PC for years. I bought the ZOOM MRS-8 CHRE few on ebay (280 EUR with shipping) for a "small" portable 8-track in order to work around saying tamps if the sound is not everything made the appointment. Worse, the machine is not only great practice dplacement (small, lightweight, runs on batteries and tranfo in obtion) but it sounds great (and breath). Do not forget a good micro (SRM 8 possde an internal microphone not bad for DPAN but not more), a prampli correct (M-Audio DMP3 such a good value trs Q / P ), even better if one has a compressor (the Prsonus Bluemax example is super simple and super effective and inexpensive) any fawn, three lments (micro - pramp - compr ) are still necessary even on recording a lot more upscale. For those on a budget Reduces [especially the "young p'tits" I am no longer a party (not because it's boring hlas not have money to live his passions!)] , go for it. Even if the outputs are and analog (RCA), recorded the final mix on a computer will be more than adequate. try to have the MRS-8 on ebay when one is ocaz Submitted (do not go to great del of 300 EUR max postage included)
I am so charmed by the little bug I think aqurir trs soon the new KORG D3200 (ze bomb when it seems the ratio Q / P unbelievable but much more expensive than any ZOOM MRS-8 m me) and use the PC for small alterations to the final mastering.

Storage SD (SD 1 new éco! now costs less than 20euros!)
2 tracks recorded simultaneously, (8 + 1 and Masters) x 10 virtual tracks per track ... plenty to get started!
Lacks a USB 2.0 connection, but the SD card + the soft Cardmanager work perfectly!

Converters? dynamic? not know (yeah, see above: I am a complete novice)
All I know is that even the Guitar and Bass effects are satisfactory.
I, who is accustomed to working in repeated and on stage with a Korg 1500G Boss ME8B and where I have all the sounds I am fond, I have not even tried to plug it into the beast!
Easy navigation through menus, various sounds and good quality ... no problem for a machine so compact!

OVERALL OPINION

Proud owner for 3 days of my first MRS 8 digital recorder, I was totally baffled by the extreme simplicity of its use: I had never had the opportunity to record my work, or even to use a bar ... and that's only 2 hours, just after reading the "OVERVIEW" of the manual, I put three pieces in a box complete (except voice: I must learn to sing!)
Even the install of Cardmanager went well and I have converted my first song to WAV on my PC!
I just had the opportunity to see it work its cousin, the BOSS BR 600 ... but it had neither the XLR input (I work a lot in acoustics) or the ability to create bass lines from BAR module (even if only for troubleshooting)

A quality / price ratio in my opinion totally unbeatable, recommended for those who like me dream a little easier to keep track of their inspiration ... this precious mechanics will help you go faster and and will take you farther than you do the 'Imagine!

A choice I would do it 10 times ... to provide around me!

Software zoom is super fast for the transfer, from the totality of the piece or track by track and you can all still fawns fawns the final result on your PC with the software of your choice.
The transfer gives you a wav file in your pc.

UTILIZATION

Except the simple creation of patterns but they must be set!
Functions are accessible and trs trs quickly juggle with.

SOUNDS

Dynamic: Listen and judge (I have nothing final on pc is the "raw" recorded the flies!)

Effects: Like all multi-effects of the plant => 1 / 3 excellent and 2 / 3 that will be used forever.

UTILIZATION

True, it is fairly simple to use for basic operations: recording, rhythmic effects.
In addition the manual (in French) is very well done.

SOUNDS

The recordings are very good: I even tested the connection from my Spider II Amp.
The effects are correct, there's good distortion and cleans sounds interresting.
The rhythm part (Drum and Bass) is more than correste.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a week.
There are over ten years I had a 4-track cassette recorder: nothing to do!
Not having good sound card on my PC, I can finally record my guitar (but also my synth and piano) in good conditions (no more noise, delays etc. ...), and more exists simplified according to program the bass and drums.
The transfer format Wav PC is easy with the use of a small software downloaded from the site CardMgr.exe Zoom. Provide a 1 GB card!
Works with 4 batteries: it is convenient.
Good value (in 330 euros).
I do not regret my choice.

The connection:

The inputs are XLR and 6.35 for the microphones. 6.35 for another guitar, instruments, and with a low line switch.
An entry Power 9V 300ma.
A receptacle for four 1.5V LR6.

The outputs are a Midi Out, 2 RCA (analog) L and R Master, headphones with volume (monitoring) that we would have preferred the front.
An on / off switch still significant, and insert SD card, stand very practical, reliable, lightweight and economical.
Accuracy: 24 bit 44.1 kHz, age requires ..
The benchmarks are broad enough to screen the zoom.
We will not talk Synchro as R16 or R24 now, not USB.
This is a recording two tracks simultaneously.


UTILIZATION

Pioneer in this field, this photo is very simple to use, easy handling, very good documentation in French.
The functions are user-friendly access, the manual is the worst there.
Drum patterns and bass program, it can serve.
The integration of virtual tracks is excellent.

SOUNDS

The sound is of good quality for the time of its release, clear and transparent, nothing to say, well above the 4-track tapes.
The effects are quality and of course we do not use them all be it on the voice as the guitar or keyboard.
I recommend a pre-amp for live use, however with mixer.

I kept it since 2005 (nostalgia), now I'm with a R16 that records 8 tracks simultaneously, but that's another generation.
I conclude by saying that I noted for his great good photo quality / price unbeatable, but I warn that it is primarily a recording quality, not to seek another function whatever the model.
SRM 8 remains a good "all in one" with a microphone already built mono recordings on the fly, a "small pocket studio," because the sound on the SD card is already good sound.
