I CURRENTLY PLAY IN A TOURUING METAL BAND AND I HAVE OWNED 13 DIFFERENT HIGH DOLLAR AMPS TRYING TO FIND THE PERFECT SOUND AND NONE OF THEM CAN GIVE ME THE LEAD TONE THAT A JCM 900 CAN.

I DONT LIKE THE FACT THAT MARSHALL DOES NOT MAKE A BUTTERY SOUNDING AMP LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

THE THREE THAT I HAVE ARE ALL VERY GOOD AND NEVER HAVE HAD MUCH IN THE WAY OF PROBLEMS
I GO THROUGH TUBES EVERY YEAR BUT I PLAY ALL THE TIME AND I PLAY LOUD.

I DONT JUST PLAY POWER CHORDS I PLAY SERIOUS LEAD AND KILLER POWER CHORDS,
I KNOW SEVERAL OF MY GUITAR HEROS HAVE RECORDED WITH THE JCM 900. I KNOW OF 12 TO 15 ALBUMS THE MODEL 4500 AND 4100 WERE THE MAIN AMP AND THESE PEOPLE OWN THE WORLD
THIS IS A GREAT TUBE AMP FOR ALL STYLES OF ROCK AND METAL.

PURCHASED NEW IN 1991, PAID: USD680, FROM LOCAL MUSIC STORE.


IT HAS 3 12AX7 PREAMP TUBES, 2 EL34 POWER TUBES, 2 CHANNELS, INDEPENDENT GAIN, VOLUME AND REVERB. SHARED QE.
CLEAN CHANNEL CAN BE PUSHED TO LIGHT OVERDRIVE SOUND, LEAD CHANNEL IS GOOD FOR CLASSIC ROCK.

IT IS NOT REALLY A "HIGH GAIN" AMP, THE GAIN ON LEAD CHANNEL WILL BECOME MUDDY IF IT PASSES 12 (IT GOES TO 20). HIGH IS TOO PIERCING. I SET THE BASS TO 5, MID TO 7 AND CUT THE TREBLE TO 2 TO GET A SOLID SOUND.

SOLID CONSTRUCTION. I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR REGULAR GIG FOR 10 YEARS AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE ANOTHER MARSHALL HEAD, MODLE 2205, THAT IS STILL ROCKING AFTER 18 YEARS.

BY ITSELF, IT IS A ROCK AMP, NOT A METAL AMP. IF YOU PLAN TO PLAY METAL WITH THIS AMP YOU NEED TO HOOK UP A METAL DISTORTION PEDAL BETWEEN YOUR GUITAR AND THIS AMP'S CLEAN CHANNEL WITH GAIN SET AT 8. I MAINLY PLAY HEAVY BLUSE AND IT'S A PERFECT AMP FOR ME.

It's a light amplifier, 50w, Marshall.
I connect a coprs 8410 12hp 4 *
There is a footswitch input and one for the guitar. There are both channels: clean and distortion, channel A and B. 2 rglages with master volume and reverb, a presence control, bass, middle, and the lead treeble pramp gain for the gain of channel B (therefore distortion) and the gain pramp for channel A.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is no one bit simpler. The controls are clear and are essential. There is little touches that will clear up a lot and we pass the rglages of these options as stupid and unnecessary given their quality of some interesting delay, chorus ... (For these effects, even when peripherals are specially prfrables far ...).
The sound I get out exlent is a super grain of sound. It is easier to register on the heads 50w 100w so for me it is more convenient to leave the sounds I DSIR. Also I live in an apartment and I come also make sounds that suit me perfectly without too much volume and admnage concert.
I bought the head of OCAS and therefore no manual.

SOUNDS

I use a Start to 1972 with the head and I get a pure sound xlente agressivit 70 'is that is is I'm looking for. the distortion is not made to play the heavy stuff or mtal I play mainly in the style of Hendrix, Clapton, Floyd, Led Zep, SRV, Winter, Jefferson Airplane, Zappa ... and the quality of the sound is perfect for me to find that his blues or blues rock psych.
I also use an Ibanez Petrucci guitar which is less my style but I like the sound and the handle so that I use from time to time. With the head so I have a heavier sound than the stratum (double Humbucker forces).
The sound is trs 70s like I said, just down the lead gain distortion for an aggressive, Submitted ... by mounting the lead gain results in a super distortion (which I agree, at least), just not too heavy, not too fat either (so musicians avoid heavy music fan) but remains in the hard IDAL 70 '( Led Zep ...).
In his clear, the sound is warm and saturating lgrement lamps with gain and volume gives a depth trs interesting.
Obviously I prfre this type of sound with heavy distortion that I use a fat fuzz distortion to enhance the sound from time to time, but the sound fuzz the interest of not being heavy.

OVERALL OPINION

I have the amp for a short time (few months).
I find that I IDAL to do: RPET, concerts, playing alone in the apartment ... It is not super heavy either so with a little courrage can be transported without galrer. The sound suits me really well.
I test a lot of amps before aqurir: JCM 2000, Twin, DIFFERENT marshall combo transistor (which I did the mistake of a aqurir), Peavey, Crate ...
I bought my amp OCCASION: head + body for same price. It is on an investment, but hey, it's the long term, let you go, and the sound is always ...

I bought it about 1400, and indeed, the JCM 900 SERIES of cardboard!
has heard the words, the jcm 900 would be just a good throw at BNS, but kan you want to do (no) mtal trash and all, that ben c on c con choosing this kind of amp!

ca mailing a lot, and rglages are so simple that even a kid could do it ten years ....

UTILIZATION

I use it to play Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin's, and found what the CHARACTERISTICS of the 70s!
as good, with a strat branch, on a 4 hp, c deadly!
in concert too, it has enough room to turn patatte!

SOUNDS

The clear sound is to die ....! probably one of the best in Marshall! prcis, shiny ... well that happiness!
The lead sounds really good too. attention, no confusion here, no big distortion nag, but a fucking crunch of death, a powerful grain!
I love it!

OVERALL OPINION

Undoubtedly, this amp jcm 900 4500 is one of the best in Marshall!
far from Otres jcm 900, that the vritablement sounds good, even though trs, and if like me you are the good old rock, then no hsitation possible! is the one that you need!
