You don't usually see CAE making products with oddball features like this. An inductor switch to change the tone and a side mounted kick switch for the boost. Of course it has true bypass since it's a CAE product. They hold most of their products to a pretty high standard of quality both in the build and spec areas of construction. It's got an internal Q control. Basically most of the features you could want in a wah pedal.

It feels like a solid build. I'm not surprised though. Wah pedals usually don't break on me but at time I've had problems with traction calibration slipping over time. We'll see how this one fares. The sign on top of the pedal is good for live situations where you can't quite see the otherwise dark surface in a dark stage environment. Travel is good. Feels a lot like the equivalent dunlop build.

The inductor is a cool concept. It's a bit like having two wahs in one. One of them is more of a vintage high end focused voicing. The other is a kind of low end modern thing good for solos because it cuts out a lot of the harshness you usually hear.

Other than that it's basically what you would expect. Boost switch works surprisingly well although I really don't use it much. For the price this is a fairly good deal. Great build quality too.

I use the pedal for 6 months. I played exclusively on Vox rdition. A little lass by the known defects of rdition (no bypass, acute crillards, transition Bass / treeble too brutal, no power supply ...) EAC came perfectly fill these gaps and propose a wah very musical, very pro.

After having had the opportunity to play recently on an original vox mc coy, I could see how much the CAE finally allows to accurately reproduce the sound and feel of the legendary Wah. The presence of boost and inductors option allowing it to adapt even all configs guitars, amps. Superb. Only lightweight BMOL the rglage Q is not external demand and opening the watch case.

Surely the best vintage type wah nine today. It's expensive but it is a very nice product.

OVERALL OPINION

The custom Audio replaces the crybaby, by dropping its faults and keeping the typical sound of the Dunlop. Passing the yellow phasel, there is the sound of the vox, funkier and less aggressive. I play on a MesaBoogie Road King or a Fender Princeton with any of my guitar (Gibson / Fender / Gretsch / Rickenbacker) Nothing to Report. The boost with the gain setting is handy for his solo peter, really nice, thank you.
Excellent value for money for a pedal that faithfully reproduces the two-wha-wha are best known in the world.

True Hardwire Bypass ...

Everything has been said, only it should be noted that this new version (after 2013 a priori) do not have the same quality as the old one.
To dissociate the old the new, you must return the pedal and watch the inscriptions. If indications (instrument, boost etc. ..) are written horizontally: then this is the oldest and best.
Otherwise, if it is written to the vertical with white rubberized covering just the scriptures then it is new ... Not impressed (see ci_dessous).

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use. Boost very useful and the choice between 2 fasel is really cool.
However, it should provide space on the pedalboard to gain access to these buttons and do not fit the 48.

SOUND QUALITY

The big problems come here.
I bought the new version and made it the next day.
Why? It is not at all clear ... When it is not enabled, you lose a lot of acute frequencies. I JVM410C an amp that is highly crystalline. I found myself with an average amp range in two seconds just by plugging this pedal.

I tried using a buffer more. The difference is less noticeable but still if you are addicted to your clean.
The same for the distortion: you lose a lot of harmonics.

I returned to the store and was able to test the old version in demo. The bypass is much better on the old version. Damage that expo was too damaged ...

Shame ... The effect itself is very good.

OVERALL OPINION

I have not tried many models.
The crybaby base is far too gaudy for me.
This, once triggered effect is very good. Too bad it filters both the bypass mode ....

In short, avoid the new version.
