Marshall MG10 [2009-2011]

If you are a Marshall nut like myself and you are in need or a good sounding practice amp then this might be the amp for you. This is a low watt headphone featured and MP3/CD player featured mini combo amp from Marshall. It has an input for an AUX if you want to play some of your favorite music into your amplifier and jam along.

This is a two channel amp that has a clean channel and a dirty channel. However, the clean channel can get a nice gain sound good for classic rock when you turn up the volume. The dirty channel gets a nice crunch sound with plenty of versatility when mixing up contour control knob with the gain control knob.

SOUNDS

This amp is extremely easy to use. The clean channel only has one control knob and that is for volume. The more you crank it up the more distorted it can get. It actually has a nice AC/DC type tone on this channel. The next channel has three control knobs one for gain, one for volume, and one for the EQ contour. The contour is an EQ sweep that reacts more to the mids than anything. So it is more of midrange sweep type control. It is very useful when dialing in the right voicing for your tone.

I like this amp with a humbucking style guitar such as a Gibson Les Paul or a SuperStrat. It like having that double coil pickup with the thick chewy distortion this amp can get.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a no brainer amp if you are in the market for a small practice combo for under $100. At new these amps come in at $70 and that is a steal for how amazing this thing sounds. Granted it is solid state sound but the whole reason you would buy this is for the simplicity of it to use silently in a hone or office and or just practicing.

I would recommend this amp to anyone who is looking for a good practice amp that wants a good distortion and a good clean channel and doesn't want to break the bank to purchase it.

UTILIZATION

Simple configuration, a clean channel and an overdrive channel with 3 settings: gain, volume, contour.
Light manual, more pub than anything else.
To get a good sound bah ... must change the amp.

SOUNDS

Simply put, this amp has a pretty decent clean channel for a 10w transistor of this type. But what is the overdrive channel ... OMG. The overdrive is fat, drool everywhere, impossible to get a decent sound, really, it's super disappointing.
I played it with an Ibanez GRG270B without effects, right there, microphones are very average, except for the clean, finally singlecoil.

OVERALL OPINION

I kept one year as a second amp, and then I sold it. To me this amp is not a good buy. I think Marshall are really in the business in our days (goodies, headphones ...) and neglect the quality of some amp models, too bad.

Pros:
A-its proper clean.
-A simplistic use.

Cons:
A horrible-drive channel.
-In jack which disconnects, see breaks easily.

In short, a value unbalanced prices.
I would do this choice? Probably not.

This is a 10W transistor amp dowry of two channels (clean / overdrive), a SETTING THE contour between a CD and a headphone output. Most basic you die!

UTILIZATION

The manual of figuration as the amp is basic, it is also thundering that Marshall has made no addition to the new version. The MG10 could mislead may be 10 years ago, but in 2011 ... with a roland micro cube price approaching one can say that the marshall amp is really laughable.

SOUNDS

The clean sound is not INTERESTED, trs cold and neutral, it is clearly not the achte a.
Remains overdrive (h yes, we toured adj channel of the amp), the beginners boast as "the perfect sound for AC / DC." Understand by it is a personality and not his Cracra ds draft that goes up a little gain and little exciting in terms of competition, a reverb would have been of MRIT to "cache misra" but there is no ame!

OVERALL OPINION

Sincrement recommend this amp is one, even the entry level thomann, the CG transistor, is better for only 25 euros ...
Dpenser money for an MG is to demonstrate a rel masochism and / or endorse the foutage face of what this product.
