150W all-tube, no effect, as any connection baffles modern head.
the switches you want in here is in for a large pallet of sounds between jcm 800, 900, plexi, Dual Rectifier, single correct .... etc..
the little extra that makes fun: independently switchable to 50W on channel 1 (clear) and 2 (full)
Simplicity, efficiency. the sound must still be refined because the possibilities are great, but we found it all the same quite easily.
all sounds are good and usable, as long as you love Marschall and mesa.
It suits my style: grindcore quality crafted riffs and precision of gesture (the head does not let any mistake!)
I play a gibson les paul classic with the bridge pickup seymour duncan blackout ABH-2 (boosted in the midrange compared to the ABH-1, with a thicker grain)
Me I do not play in saturated, 150W, I have not made my final choice between the way tite gain and fluid drive ....
tite the gain is much like the Dual Rectifier ... with its advantages (mega power) and cons (the draft) and feedback quite easily.
drive the fluid has a tighter grain, but midrange / treble less precise ... on the other hand one would think that there is a noise gate on that channel ... very little feedback and a clean out of all proportion to the high gain cranked.
Apart from that, if not the clean is not bad, not exceptional either, missing a little expressiveness, harmonics .. what a little flat. (I also tested with a standard LP Burstbucker alnico 2)
Moreover, with passive pickups quality found more grain ... but Marschall mesa
So in conclusion the head transcribes well the characteristics of the guitar and pickups.
I put 9 for clean, qd Diezel seen that done at this level for the typical metal .... cleans it is far!

I use it recently at home, in rehearsal and in concert, recording soon.
low volume (ie outpout 0, master thoroughly, thoroughly winning, fashion 150W) or a few watts, the sound is very good, no worries.
repeating, the guitar is very much up in the mix without having to push too hard (for personal adjustment of clear and solid sound at once: to master 1H, 11H solo volume, bass 12, mid-3H, acute 4H, gain substantive presence at background while 150w fluid drive).
in concert, like, nothing to say.
small precision: this is my first really high-end head, and I realize that his home is a Messy ... even at high volume, but in a group with all instruments and singing it moves too well! live like it.
I hope also for registration! we'll see.
That's the expertise mesa! is pro. it is to play! is not made to play alone in his room, dreaming that one day ... may be ... the big night will come ...
conclusion: pro equipment, value for money good location relative to other heads of all brands, but its .... marshall mesa boogie (the subtle blend the best of both worlds ... how you say ... try it! !)
qd even just a few criticisms for fun: cleans a little flat, lacking a little bass but maybe eventually we do not need so much! from a Line 6 Vetta, or I could play without a bass player and bass with good power who were explosions über-abissales ... EDIT: To get more bass (much more), you have to play the solo knob engaged. Me I do not play that way!
EDIT 2: clean works wonders with fenders!
