Reason Studios Reason 2.5Published on 10/29/03 at 15:00
After years of testing software, I discovered Reason 1.0. This program made it possible for me to make music with the few things I know. I bought Reason 2.5 in a store and it was about €400.

You can combine as many samplers and drummachines as you like.
You can put any sound in them and play with it.
Every style off music can be made with it.
Via Rewire you can caonnect it to your sequencer.

It's not so easy to master your song. But this is not the point for Reason, making music is.

Duallhead vgacard is the way to go with Reason.

The best music production software I've ever seen. Easy to use. Nice layout.
But it misses some things, like a spectrum meter, phase scope.

    Good value for the money

On the Mac, the installation is really transparent and fast trs. The passage of 2.0 2.5 was done in fifteen minutes (mostly because it takes insrer dsinsrer both CD and by the way, which is slow with an Apple SuperDrive). Then a manual too short on news, but the sound does not read it s'coute. 10, so.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

On my Mac G4 887, I have not yet found the limits of the software. A dozen instruments, at least twice as many racks (especially equalizer and compressor), five or six tables, mix, just the new reverb, and runs like a charm. Really, it was a studio right top quality low price. Finally, the stability is so far absolute, not a single crash, not the least error.…

    OVERALL OPINION

APRS one week, I must say that Reason adsormais really not that he lacked: a legalization table a little better, on a first shipment of effects, and especially a good reverb trs quality (sisi) provided that we take the trouble to "plug in" module CONTRL, and trying to DIFFERENT types of reverb. Few software can string a revberb with equalizer, which is the case here, which greatly helps to refine the sound. It's the same for the compressor (well, let's say that it could evolve a bit to a more graphic, but just to say something). Finally, how can we not acknowledge the right ide of Propellerheads offer us, we are buyers of Reason 2.0 (dj not too expensive but not far) put this fantastic day? I have only one word: viva la Sude :-)

No problem, quickly and smoothly, no prs 10 minutes or 15 seconds, adpend whether or not we want to recover each time the CD Factory Sound Bank.

I use Reason has always been my opinion is the top, cot simplicity and performance, we can couraging his music without the fuss, all I say, strongly future releases, so we s'clater can still plusssss.

The particularity of Reason is that it has a super soft supplmentaire interesting, such as RECYCLED, which prpare DrRex for the loop. And I love, because you get good result of trs that allow couraging the remix, mix quickly trs.
Otherwise, Rewire, which allows rvolution great couple and Reason sync, with the largest soft music, Digital Performer, Cubase, Logic Audio, etc. ....
And finally a new kid, Rebirth, to make us a little of acid.

So much for long life finish Reason!

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Despite my deprecated configuration (Athlon TBird 1Ghz, 256 MB SDRAM), the software is perfectly stable, and has never experienced any "saturation".
It allows the use of a large number of synths and effects without blocking your computer so that you can not go read your emails!

    OVERALL OPINION

Reason I test in its demo version 1.0 some time ago but, as all beginners, its interface compltement Drout me ... I regret also always a tutorial for people who are in this situation. Despite this incident, I could not call rsister version 2, not counting the gnreuse (but somewhat normal) which consits Propellerheads offer to upgrade to version 2.5 for free.
I am currently a drug of Reason, I do not spend more for my compos exprimentales, noize, electro or house is the perfect tool, and I pse my words, it intgre everything a composer software needs. The next Prodigy album would also RALIS t 95% with Reason 2.5 unique is tell you how powerful it is.
I now support the intgration a VST compressor more powerful, and ... not really anything else!

The software works perfectly, although more demanding than before in system resources, but given the quality of the effects we forgive him!

I've just effects. Those are the most j'apprcie:
The new-Reverb: Hyper powerful, with a 30aine of pRSET
-The unison: Same, the depth of sound is multiplied by 100 (no no no j'exagre!)
-The vocoder is very practical for the equalizer
    ...

I pass over the other but know that with these new effects, the possibility of ventail is * huge *.

T also changes have made to other modules such as the mixer who is rewarded with more buttons.
In short, all as still as stable (Reason has never been able to plant my modest machine), there are plenty of things adcouvrir and express in this new version ... </ul>

Ditto for Banks Hip Hop sounds, I personally do not find a trs pro, but ...
I try not polmique, but the ear, I find that is not all you want
be said (despite the many possible rglages).

The other advantage of Reason, is also normally able to do without synthtiseur
and sampler, as Reason intgre gnrateurs sound modules that can be
    drive from his midi keyboard.

I cost the piano ... bof.
the violins ... blah blah (frankly from a former Roland XP30 synthtiseur, c and day
    night)
the rhodes ... there is a module for ddi this type of instrument, say c not too bad, but

So here, I have found that the factory sounds that come with Reason taient of qualitbr /> infrieur much my synth, I have not really t convinced. For example
when compared with the Native Instruments FM7, l c true that the VSTi brings something.

I think Reason is a technical performance sacr, c want to make a real studio
Fully in the case, there's sacrment ambitious. Namoins, Properllehead has not
the exprience and expertise of leading brands like Roland, Yamaha, or Korg, which
synthtiseurs manufacture for 30 years ....

It is true that software like Reason is much cheaper and all that synthtiseurs
these racks (300 euros, given c is not it?). So this is an excellent quality price.

Nanmoins, I think that their present was not a substitute for the purchase of a good synthbr /> or plug ... for now ... I say mostly because I have not had normment
fun to play on virtual instruments in Reason, despite a near-zero latency.

This, then, I only post this notice to invite people who would experience
Reason, listen to the latest synth music in our stores prfrs
ear and compare the quality of sound banks.

I put 7 / 10 because I find agnial even when you can have as many
    features for this price.

    This is an excellent software!

Installing the software and MIDI keyboard without any problems.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

    Cons:

The vocoder aporte latency greater or lesser depending on the sample rate.
The comp1 which has a self-gain as we can not cancel.
A volume reduction (-3dB to be ready) to export wav file.
The wav samples distributed in the Reason Factory (notably the drumkits) are not great (too compressed, not present for some).
    Missing an equalizer accurate.

Software audio engine very stable and neutral on the wav file is imported, one can set back the synth (44100Hz aliasing present but quite usable).
The main strength of the wiring coming too. The hardware aspect has not limited the graphics, in fupport tab on the machines can be connected as desired.

    OVERALL OPINION

    I Interacting from 2 to 3 years.

I think it's a very good choice as well as audio software ergonomics is not always obvious (I know not everything can be keyboard shortcuts).

The dream would be nice to be able to process sound from an external source ie included with the entry interface "channel in" and be able to control it with a midi out.

When I purchased it , it was loaded with stock and preset sounds and samples. But unfortunately like most of the computer software programs all of the stock drums were really weak to me, same thing with a lot of the other computer sequencing programs on the market. I feel like if you pay 300 dollars for a software it should at least come stocked with some pretty good kits of all genre’s.

Once you get all of the that down its no different than a lot of other programs on the market. I was actually expecting it to stick out from fl studio and acid and or cubase but it didn’t. So that’s why Im just saying its good, because all of those other softwares are good too. Its basically just picking which one your want to go with and feel most comfortable on . Understand your gear is a big part of the musical process and you can understand Propeller Head Reason 2.5 pretty quick.

    OVERALL OPINION

Overall the program is great, it works and sounds great. Sequencing is extremely easy even if its your first time using a computer software to do your music and or compositions with you will be able to do them in no problem. You may have to read through the manual a few times in order to clear up a few things but its mainly just getting use to the menu and options. give it a try! But once you get use to the menu’s and options you will see that Propeller head reason has all the bells and whistles. But you don’t want to get with those once you dig in deep with this program you will be surprised on what you can do with this program, this is a powerful program that has been around for a while and isn’t going anywhere.

There is no audio recorder. You have to use another program to record audio files to use in Reason. Also there is no way to stretch the tempo of a file. You have to use one of their add-ins/devices. The Dr. Rex Loop Player will time-stretch audio files. You also have to purchase another software program from them (RECYCLE) to be able to use the Dr. Rex Loop Player with your files. But that won't matter, once you start using the program. You'll evently get RECYCLE. Propellerheads software is top

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The sound quality is the best I've heard. I compared the same drums I used to use in my other software programs and somehow Reason makes them sound more crisp and more pronounced. You're sounds won't sound as flat.

Reason was create so you can throw away your hardware. Embrace technology. If your PC is your hardware, put Reason on it. Also, Reason has very, very low PC requirements

    OVERALL OPINION

I love it so much, I wish I had pictures of the Props (Propellerhead Developers). I would carry the picture around in my wallet. They don't know what they did for an aspiring hip-hop producer. My first song I made using Reason was better than anything I've produced in the past 5 years. I even tried to figure out a way to clown it, I always ended up thinking, there is no way I could've did what I do in Reason with the program I used to use. I've had Reason for about 3 months, and none of my stuff sounds the same anymore. I've been taken to another level.

The only thing missing on Reason (i like the fact u cannot bring in other plug ins cause it makes this a stabler product as result) in my opinion is more Dj like features. Maybe a cross fader or tables ala radial cycling 74 even more loop control without resorting to recycle or combine them maybe. Also an easier sampler in the mode of sampletank with more samples would rule too!! still this kicks major ass

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Well, I've only been using Reason for about 8 months, but I'm highly impressed! I was always leary about software synthesis, but I'm a believer now! Reasons sounds are HOTT! I'm a professional hip-hop/R&B producer with a large keyboard set-up, and Reasons is a daily part of my productions! Ofcourse, nothing is perfect, and I hear people complaining that the drums dont hit like an Akai MPC will?! Hell, I use Reason in realtime with my entire set-up! I use my MPC to set the foundation of my drums, then use Reason to augment the MPC. Sometimes my kicks and snares are actually comin outta Reason, instead of the MPC! Plus Reasons has a ton of expansion sounds, even third party and consumer sounds! I really use the synth sounds in Reason the most. I produced a track for a up & coming artist called &quot;PayBak&quot; featuring &quot;50Cent&quot;, and I used Reason for some of the sounds! The engineer who was mixing the song was wondering where I got those sounds?!! Nuff said!

There's no actual hardware that came with Reason. Software only. Protools is my hardware link.

    OVERALL OPINION

I love Reason because it adds to my sonic pallete! As a producer, I'm constantly competing against mainstream producers and wicked sounds in your tracks can sometimes be the difference between you or another producer getting the gig! Sounds are what producers live for.

I don't think there's much missing from the synths, and theres an excellent drum machine and samplers. The fx are bit weak, but hopefully this will be addressed in 3.0, or you can rewire. An obvious missing effect is a high pass filter, or a decent multichannel eq.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The sound coming from the synths and samplers is excellent. The fx and mixer are slightly lacking though. However you can rewire reason into a host sequencer and then apply fx, and do some proper mixing, so this works out alright.

I've had software and vsts crash and samples go missing. Reason has never ever crashed, and the files have never ever corrupted. Its as solid as a rock.
