Its got absolutely phenomenal tone direct to tape, but the feature I like most is the fact that it is so versatile! Headphones for practice, sounds great through the P.A., sounds cool through the line in on my SoundBlaster card! And I don't have to worry about mic'ing hassles or lugging around a truck load of amps. The eq responds just like the amp its modeling!!!!


The Built in wah wah is unavailable until you buy the floorboard foot controller

There is a bass pod available now. I will be picking that up for use in my studio and my pod 2.0 will be coming home full time as I am going to buy the Line 6 Pod Pro rack unit very soon for installation at the church where I play three services a week! I have never been more impressed with a product for the guitar!

The only way to provide so many sounds to a recording source coherently. Is it an amp simulator or an effect unit or recording outboard gear? Yes, all of them. Version 1 didn't take a clean sound to recording medium very well-but version 2 does as far as I am concerned. I have lots of pro gear but this is the most amazing. I have made many believers with this unit!


Great construction and layout, also get the bag for portability.


Ease of use and incredible tube "soundfeel", that's my term!
The most amazing concepts go into this unit. Line 6 is a threat to every other manufacturer of amps/guitar processors. Sorry, old favorites, I would marry this thing if I weren't a mere human!

Purchased version 1.1 from Musician's Friend May -99 ($329 ... or something like
that). Upgraded to ver. 2.0 July 2000 ($60). Needed something more
than my old Rockman X100 to use at home.


Versatile, versatile, versatile ....I can get all the sounds from this kidney bean I want to, and even more.
I have had in my previous wild years Laney Klipp (100W), Marshall (100 W),
Music Man (60W), Mesa/Boogie Studio .22 (22W). And I have to tell you that
I can reproduce all the sounds I was able to get from those amps (well, maybe
not the Laney, but I don't miss that anyway).

The ease of use is really remarkable, just plug a guitar in and start jamming!



A rackmount design might have been better, but now there is the
POD Pro in that field! .. but more $$$$. With the 2.0 upgrade some issues
were solved (e.g. tuner more responsive).


The POD is very sturdy, looks like you can take it anywhere

I definitely would by another one if this got stolen or otherwise damaged.

Anybody who is looking for a tool for recording guitars in the home (or any other)
studio, the POD is the best bet! What you get with the money is incredible!

Get the Floorboard, and you can take this puppy to any gig. Just hook it up to
the P.A. or use it with a clear/clean amp/powered monitors/... and there you go!

- Well I'm too lazy, the characteristics have been posted 50 times ..
I paid mine secondhand 75 eur Like new, with power supply, cable noon, and audio cable for connecting to the PC sound card.

UTILIZATION

- The general configuration is simple?
Should not be messing around, no it's not easy to get the max. Now, you can also plug and play, here in EFET is simple, but limited ..

I do not use it with an amp but in the PC. On my amps, he never made very well. However the PC is great! AC turns on, it is always connected to the PC, the sounds are really quality, the adjustment is instantaneous and tuner and noise gate.
This is the perfect alternative when you do not want to heat lamps or when you want to play that night without making noise.

It is excellent with a PC
One can find hundreds of different sounds on the line6 site, must be really difficult to not find anything interesting. it is even very pleasant to go and try all these sounds and to make its market (for free).
When you want to quickly Audacy samples and PC, you really sound good with very little gear, no need for external microphone or another, we light, we click, save ca.
Placed next to me constantly, connected to the PC with the tuner in it, it happens 10 seconds between when I say "I'll take a trick play" and the moment I start. Eg for an apartment is an alternative for me much more interesting than all the little lamps had 5w amps (I have one as I use it unless the pod)
It is now found for a reasonable price secondhand. Besides, he never stays long in the database. currently it is not all that concurrency.
This is what is cheaper to get home something plug and play and a huge range of sounds.
It is indestructible! Not to be confused with pocket pod! this one has a very solid metal shell, and comes with its power supply. no battery, it only works on power supply

Mine is the first version of the pod 2.0, pedalborad fsb does not work, ca ca sorely lacking. switch from one sound to another in the middle of a piece is virtually impossible without that pedalboard.
ON can not disable the amp simulation. It is therefore impossible to use it just like a multi-effects amp.
I tried it with my Marshall Haze, my AC30 and my Nighttrain VOx: Apart from the effects loop, the sound is pretty detestable, for me it really is not meant to serve multi-purpose. In the loop of the ac30 gonna qq but if you pedal, AC has no interest, the vox sounds so good!
I would like an adjustment period apart from other settings, coupleable with the other effects and intuitive. The delay can be coupled with other effects, but it's annoying to do, a bit like trying to do on his keyboard ctrl / alt / sup playing on the other hand ..

Without hesitation! it does not replace my amps, but nothing replaces it. I even considering buying another to permanently connect to another PC.
I put 9 because of the pedalboard.
He asked when even a good grip. I've seen guys tell me that the sound was rotten, until he realized that they had forgotten the direct switch / amp eg .. So without sound is not rotten, it is excellent even when trying not to ask him anything other than what he can do. ca is not a multi-effect is an amp simulation. It works well in a digital system, a quality tube amp, it has no interest.

UTILIZATION

I think nearly everyone has owned or played with one of these. If you haven't, you've certainly HEARD one - listen to anything produced in the last 11+ years, and there is usually something from this unit on there, from a simple overdub to a smattering of all guitar and bass sounds of a full album. I've actually done both approaches - I've made a couple of full-length albums that used only tones from this box, no miked sounds, and have gotten lots of positive feedback regarding those sounds. I tend to mic up guitar amps more nowadays, but this baby back in the day made great tones acheivable on the cheap and easy. It's a ubiquitous box that makes life simpler for a recording engineer.

SOUND QUALITY

The sounds are good. I'm rating it a 7 because the technology for amp modelling has improved vastly since these came out. But I know I could still jam out on a recording with one of these units and be satisfied with the results. The Treadplate sound is one of the best metal rhythm sounds around, and the delays are really cool on here as well. It's fun to use as a practice headphone amp! No matter what one thinks of amp models, I don't think anyone could plug into this and not find some kind of usable tone.

OVERALL OPINION

It's a collection of good, usable amp and effects tones, for not much money. And it is a lifesaver on a recording session - especially if a "signature tone" type amp goes down, this box can be plugged in to save the day. With some EQ and compression, the tones can be nearly indistinguishable from the originals in many cases. If one still turns one's nose up at the thought of using the little red bean pod for a record, it still makes a great headphone amp. And it's fun to mess around for reamping, like with crushed drums or distorted vocals!

For the price, it includes a set of effects that would have cost dear to trs final chorus, flanger, rotary speaker, Dlay, reverb, and even for those wahwah ki want to take with pdalier floorboard. ..

For the first level of maquetage without taking the head is the right product.

UTILIZATION

Only 7 / 10 because it's cute, but the buttons at a time ca bou stuffs, especially as functions parralele exists for even a knob, so beginners fo to know the cache function, the m boukin indika the double functions of head way, so we never lost.

The effects are nickels for the use I make. Sometimes with the effect Dlay + swell it seems that the processor of the pod have trouble keeping up, it cuts the sound if he sends in too quickly ...

OVERALL OPINION

The lil red bean a must mock the beginners, and lots of pros use it in their parralele mixer, ais is not a tool for scene attention, if you want to scene It fo pdalier the indispensable, but almost as expensive as the pod itself!!
I've had a lil time, and I have no complaints.
We can even treat anything other than scratch with, then k'il intgre a simulated simple tube amp.

Modlisation 32 amp, 16 amp simulations cabin and 16 effects "common".

The effects are ditables, but remains even when basic trs (EQ lo / med / hi, a type of reverb, the intensity of the effect and basta).

The outputs of the unit are Stereo, lasortie monon not prvue t, it's a shame ...

Trs easy to use, simply turn a knob or press another and they change the world!

SOUND QUALITY

I find the effects trs satisfactory: the sounds are clear and well rendered trs distorted sounds have a certain warmth that I find apprciable trs.

I play mostly in clean sounds and I found the kind of sound I was looking for: trssche prcise and trs.

on the other hand, it is unfortunate that there is only one type of reverb, in addition to an average quality ... but it was inevitable that somewhere scratching Line 6 for the price!

Certainly it is a matter of taste, but I find that for 200 euros, we have a simulator that ampicillin is really good quality trs rpport by such small Digitech blowing as an engine plane ...

I use it for a week and I stay glued on for 3 hours the first 2 days, so this thing is!

I am especially sduit by the sound of this machine and its simplicity of use: no need to read the user manual (fortunately because it is in English ...) to get good rsultats trs .

I use it on scne (the very first time a few days ago, I bought it to actually ...) and I like people who come see my band live are very s happy with the sound of this magic bean!

I tried before buying the last big multi-effects VOX and I did not t Packing: rgler too complicated, even if the quality of his silent l. ..

I wanted something that works rsultats quickly (like any good Socit victim of consumer self-respecting ...) and I am fully saisfait of my choice!

HAPPINESS!
like others, I would forget all the manic sound of death that kills, which would replace configs to € 2000 by a small bean .. € 150 it calms down!
all sounds are not perfect, but what variety .. we change the type of hp, and everything changes ... I found metal sounds crazy (since sold my JMP1), clear sounds great, and even managed to get a sound traffickers jeff beck (from the excellent patches "Billy Gibbons"), which plunged me in to bluesy improvisation almost endless! a shredder like me, who spits on the grave of Eric Clapton! (lol guys .. it is not so bad on Rico) ..
I owned a small turn Rockman (prehistory of the direct box ..), bought a pedal Tubeman Hughes & Kettner (I should have to choose a sans-amp) before discovering that the simulation of hp JMP1 was excellent ... exit all that ..
on the effects included, there is more than the bare minimum, and it is possible to cut .. certainly not pitch transpose, or multi-tap delays ... but damn, do not ask for the moon ..
we live in a great time ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two months .. (It's always the love-story)
Of course, it must be put in context: this pedal is used to play live, not to be plugged into a guitar amp ... the goal is just to do without those big bulky .. Therefore, it is a machine dedicated to the home studio, the guitarist of room (which can be pro by the way), and configs coffee with good sound .. (And go, everyone on the sound system .. oh damn, there is the battery ...)
The great aspect that no one mentions is the educational side of the toy ... I made the guitar for 15 years and I've never been very "stuff" .. (Too expensive, too complicated ... how many people spend a long time to be concerned with the stuff at the expense of the music ..) (I'm not saying the good stuff does not help .. but it does not .. all I saw a lot of guitarists wheezy equipped as Formula 1 racers).
here it is finally possible to compare the characteristics (emulated of course) of different amps, HP, with their specific settings, their sounds .. we change gear a click, we study patches ready-made .. is a school of sound in a tiny contraption ... why hp vintage? why put 2 or 4? why fender, marshall, mesa boogie .. without making you an expert, the use of the pod allows you a gentle introduction, intuitive and even fun .. and when you think about what it would take to do that in real life (cost of gear, learning time, space ..).
my only regret is that there are not hundreds of thousands of patches to download tonecenter (instead of a few thousand) .. I want a patch Richie Kotzen (Joy Electric), a patch Marty Friedman (Scenes), Michael Lee Firkins a patch ... Finally, the community Pod seems to me too small ...
The future, it will be when we try to imitate less than trying to produce new sounds, original, based on digital processing of the signal structure ... when you will think fender, marshall, but frequency, sound color ... it would calm a lot of controversy ...

Amp Simulators (32) with multiple effects, all ds a small box strong and easy to carry.
Imitation Fender for crunch sounds and sounds clear (with drive to 0) are very good.
Marshall imitations for big distortion are very good too.
Other simulated amps are less successful, but it does not matter because I do not need 32 amps, and 5 or 6 good enough for me largely simulated.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to adjust, and you turn the knobs like an amp.
This is slightly less easy and convenient for effects but for this there is the manual (for me a reference), which is very clear and fun to read.

SOUND QUALITY

For the price it's huge ...
Ok it's a little less than a true all-tube amp (I would say that
reaches 80% of the result but still ...), bq bq cheaper and less bulky.
The effects are average but usable, except the reverb which is bad, but again for
the price should not exaggerate not What Makes a mixer with the sound engineer at home ....

OVERALL OPINION

This is the top for my home studio. bq I had to tube amps, even if the sound is in the absolute
better than the pod I never managed to come out of a record to have the result that I have with my pod (no breath, no microphone jack problem, no problem soundproofing etc part. .)
bq I tried other simulators and pod is for me the meilleur.Vamp no clear sound. J station
its too big in numérique.Tonelab less saturation, more expensive and not better crunch, in clear
and dynamic than the pod.
The quality / price of this red box is amazing.
