As everyone says, including EMG, the 707 is the 7-string version of 85 ... But unlike what everyone says, it is not an absolutely identical 85 in regard to the sound reproduction. The coil as a little larger, the frquences pivots are not quite at the same place, and the 707 sounds almost passive. It is a 85 and better, so long live the 7-string! I just think it's the best of EMG active (although humbucker sr).
I use this mic on my Qurey Per Aude Arnaud Adama (I also post a notice on this guitar, for those intresss by the instruments of high-end luthiers, I invite you to visit my website www.myspace.com / ultimategear ( http://www.myspace.com/ultimategear ) , there are a lot of things about the world of guitar). The EMG pickups Panthon resident in the most prcis, so for those who say they are cold microphones, screaming, and that Di Marzio are ten times better, and well aware that this dpend completely the guitar on which you mount these microphones. It is true that micro serious it is exceptional. The sound is trs saturated fat and rich, just as prcis. Clearly, it is very modern jazz. In bridge pickup, it is also gnial, trs warm and rich. For cons, I do not find that lack of potato at all, either in serious or elsewhere ... it may be a question of lack of proximity with the strings (or guitar) ... The sound is ultra clear lens, and modern. Both, the clean is round and trs hyper dynamic (dynamic is all the time for that matter). Be careful also, because it quickly twist trs prampli; not hsiter to gain low trs.
In Manir gnrale is the best overdrive sound I heard. He enjoys all the harmonic richness that is desired when you have a guitar with a mahogany body (this is on this kind of guitar that are unique EMG).
I am familiar with Di Marzio, but none of 7-string version, I think, n'gale the EMG. It replaces all the others I know. Although sr must pay the price for EMG, is a MRIT, but it is an investment cost trs.
