Published on 01/06/13 at 16:55This is an electro-acoustic guitar made in China, shape Dreadnought cutaway.
It is made entirely of solid wood. The table is Sitka spruce, back and sides are padauk from Africa, the neck is one piece mahogany, the fingerboard is Indian rosewood, the head is also higher in the same veneer rosewood; the bridge is also rosewood. The frets are made of bone. Nets of the body are essentially flamed maple, inlays and benchmarks are key pearl white + small "balls" abalone.
Radius is 16 ", the tune of 25.5. Ago 20 frets in all and for all.
Grover Rotomatic (oil bath, is it necessary to specify?)
For electronics: Fishman Acoustic Matrix VT with microphone under the bridge saddle and active preamp (volume and tone) hidden under the rosette (no hole in the box, good point, but in a small battery cover on the Inside, accessible condition loosen the strings, at least)
UTILIZATION
The handle is it enjoyable?
as very subjective question, I know that I like the profile is D, I would say, without being certain.
Ergonomics is it good (in terms of shape, weight ...)?
I find it quite light, it may tend to sting a little head, but I did not feel like we've tried the same guitar, considered another opinion on it. Nothing dramatic to me.
Access to acute (recent freight) is it easy?
Again, I think it really depends on the morphology of each. For my part, I find it defends itself quite the cutaway is wide.
SOUNDS
I had to learn to know how she reacted to it to find out what were the most appropriate string.
I find that a little over a year, she began to "do" my touch ... more immediate response and dynamic accuracy slightly increased.
Solid wood well seasoned, it's like good wine to keep, it gets better with time when care is taken. There will grant credit or not, I really enjoy.
I think it has a low less present than on models rosewood back and sides, but its spectrum is more of a balanced, a crystalline light, not as bright as other medium or fat like takamine, but general impression is that it is waiting to be done ringing (c'te lyricism, my good lady ...), without imposing character immediately.
I think it deserves a draft not too light to get its full potential and its dynamics (tell me maybe is the case many guitars more upscale ... it is possible, I am not yet experienced enough-especially fortunate I think to judge).
OVERALL OPINION
This is my first "real" guitar. I started with an acoustic Elypse (same as my first Marshall MG: excitation beginner and ear forms and disgust increasingly violent "music" that comes out and feel that there are, once you have discovered the quality elsewhere ... well ^ ^), followed by a small electro Yamaha APX 500.
I tried a lot of models of Pigalle, and apart from the tenor of the genre (which does not like automatically recognize quality but let revere systematically because it is thingy that put his seal on it ...) I was drooling on Furch, but availability of models that interested me too random, and a little beyond my budget. My impatience and my GAS attacks did the rest ... : P-
Q / P? At first, when you enter the good to very good mid-range where I think it is, the price is a little sore. And then you realize that the time has still a lot for your money.
With experience? Well, I viserais perhaps a small pearl in a range above, but for the moment it would be purely greed guitar hey hey hey ...
Note in passing that Guild has ceased production of this range, the GAD series has been renewed, it was the last in the series (and therefore cost a little broken) the mag where I bought it, if we believes the seller. Not unhappy to have fallen over anyway!
