Linn Sondek « Although »
Published on 06/01/13 at 10:15U.S. manufacturing. My model was a special series produced for stores chain Guitar Center. It stood out for its cedar top instead of the traditional spruce.
The pre-amp was against the usual OP 50 OP 30.
The exact reference: GC 771 LX-C Special.
UTILIZATION
As on all Ovation, the handle has a profile providing a perfect fit and full playability through cutaway fully realized.
The shape of the back does not bother sitting upright but can be destabilizing, but it is a matter of habit.
Connected, this guitar benefits from the excellence of the OP50 is full and rich pre-amp. Electro, I give it a 9 without hesitation. IN sound, it lacks the lens side and defined treble that is normally found on Ovation. I give him just one six.
SOUNDS
All my Ovation, this model only made in the USA, was the worse! Note that I'm not saying it's a bad guitar, but my Pinnacle is much better and I will not speak of my Custom Legend ...
I do not know if the table cedar was responsible but the overall sound was not balanced or the fullness of two other South Korean models.
If I ignore the pinnacle and Legend, the 771 remains a good guitar in its price range.
OVERALL OPINION
I separated, there is little of this guitar because I played it, so to speak, for the reasons mentioned above. I am tempted to say that a current Baladeer, found in € 650, it is sépérieure.
Nevertheless it is a good guitar concerve the basic qualities of Ovation.
Again I give an opinion on a particular model taking into account the choice of a massive cedar top. There is no doubt that the "normal" model with spruce, sounds differently.
