Published on 01/23/03 at 15:00Started looking for an acoustic/electric guitar for under $400 at the local shops in town. Narrowed down selections to Ibanez, Fender, and Washburn. Decided on the Washburn, but the best price I could find locally was $430 for just the guitar. Found one at Mary's Music.com for $350 including shipping and heavy duty padded Washburn case.
This guitar is a steal. It's beautiful, the sound w/o an amp is as good as most pricier guitars I've played. It comes with an Equis
pre - amp which works extremely well. When usingh an amp, it doesn't seem to have that plunky (for lack of another word) sound other acoustic/electrics have.Came with Dean Markley ML strings (my favorite),the setup was perfect from the factory, not to high, but not to low either.
I can't find a thing to dislike about this guitar.
Again, a beautiful guitar. Construction is that it will last a long time, a good gig guitar. The price was great along with the sound.
If it were lost or stolen, I'd buy another
