Besides the fact that the neck is fretless, here are the characteristics given by Godin:
Mahogany
Ebony
Radius of 40.6 cm (16 in.)
Diapason 64.75 cm (25 1 / 2 inch)
Nut 4.75 cm (1 7 / 8 in.)
Body mahogany acoustic chamber
Solid Spruce
RMC electronics with special 13-pin connector for direct access to the synth Roland GR Series and Axon AX100
Natural Satin finish or Natural Gloss
A very beautiful instrument in every case!
UTILIZATION
The handle is very pleasant. Being fretless, there is no problem to play. These are the strings "classic". I think with a string mesh dish is even better.
For now, I have a jack or through the use of acoustic, but it is possible to connect the boxes as the GR-33, to play much more than the guitar!
The instrument is very kind in that live music is at once very Eastern (at least initially). The agreements are not simple, but working a little, you get there.
In fact, we should not see this instrument as a guitar. That's all aure thing, with other possibilities, and many more sensitivity.
SOUNDS
The acoustic sound is very rich. After, this is like a play and not as a fretless guitar. You can play on microtonality, slides etc ...
OVERALL OPINION
I bought this guitar 3 years ago, but I play occasionally, because very typical. It is a pleasure every time. However, I realize more and more we can expand the game to other styles (even pop / rock).
I also tried the Glissentar. The, for once, I found that the instrument was too oriented (style Oud). I prefer the Multiac for two reasons:
- More versatile
- Pin 13-PIN (pseudo-Midi), so POSSIBILITY play things more electro, tablecloths etc ...
The guitar is shipped overnight (then 2000 Euros!), But I do not regret my purchase. Now I was really starting the work. So one recommendation: ask yourself what you will use (musical style) and ... if you are ready to re-learn to play guitar;-p.
