I bought this monitor to complete my home studio. My choice was mainly motivated by price. I use them with Cubase SX, a Mac G5 Dual proc and card M'audio ProjectMix ... The relatively good stuff in fact. With that, I record mainly real instruments, guitars, basses, drums singing.
SOUNDS
This is where it's going so well. Bass enhancer function greatly expands the bass without being able to cut it. The short answer is simply the speakers too hard on the bass. The difference between the headphones and speakers is striking, but not in the sense that one would like. Basically, to get an eq just correct, you must make an adjustment on the speaker's bass style: 1 / 10 treble and 9 / 10. So no middles. In short, I do not mix more than the headphone.
OVERALL OPINION
I use them for about a year and and I still have not been convinced. The price is what made me decide but it also appears that making the poor quality of the speakers. The lesson of it all: good sound, comes at a price!
