I would first prciser I do not what possde MODEL monitoring. Personally, I have some old Celestion that work wonderfully in spite of their great age (20 years easy).
on the other hand, l or I can give my opinion, from my exprience as a service technician at SCV AUDIO (Genelec importer in France). I was fortunate to have a lot of MODELS in the hands and especially to the ears even if an electronic workshop is frankly not the place to rev MUCH prcise.

Indeed, and as a dj prcis someone before me, the 1029 lacks bass, but then cruelly.
Paralllement, the volume that you can DGIG not always live up to what one would expect from monitor speakers.
OVERALL OPINION
Personally, I rather see the 1029 as multimedia speakers (we buy with a PC) improving.
Those who really want to sound turning instead to the 1030 sincrement more respectable.
If in addition we Whereas the price ... (I prfre not continue).
One last tip: Do not remove if you do not have the exprience, their installation is very treacherous and hoods (especially rear) in alluvial fresh mass are expensive.
