The best size performance! The technology used allows a frequency response and impressive power for size. These speakers are used to have a small studio mobile e ideal for those who travel a lot. For use as main monitors, it is essential to complement the 5040A subwoofer. I started with these pregnant "entry level professional," and I is now 8040.

SOUNDS

Many complain that the Genelec flatter bass, and their mix is much flatter on other HiFi systems. What seems normal, considering the quality of the speakers compared to any HiFi system.
My opinion is that it needs to be well regulated and should not hesitate to cut the bass with tilt switches on the rear of the enclosure for use in the studio. They are so precise that I listen to all my music on the 6010A/5040A now. I discovered sound effects, instruments or sounds that I had never noticed before, even on songs I've listened to thousands of times.
Otherwise, high volume, I do not perceive any distortion. At low volume the acute sound very focused, and the speakers need to be oriented correctly.
To dissect the music, they are ideal. 1dB variation on any frequency point.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 2 1/2 years that I use with great pleasure, and I am now motivated to invest in larger (at least 8040). For those who want a precision micro surgical sound, Genelec are ideal. For those who want to equip their studio, it is better to model larger, but as entry-level professional it's tough!
