Active Monitor from Tannoy belonging to the Reveal series

Tannoy revamped its Reveal active monitors and introduces three new models at the NAMM Show 2014.

The three new Tannoy Reveal 402, 502 and 802 active monitors are based on Tannoy’s heritage and skills, including Doctor Paul Mills’ who managed the conception of this new generation.

The monitors ship with a 5-meter 1/8” cable that, when combined to the Aux Link feature, allows for connecting a tablet, a smartphone or a CD/MP3 Player.

The most compact of this new edition is the Reveal 402, with the following specifications:

  • 4” woofer
  • 3/4” soft dome tweeter
  • 2×25w bi-amplifier
  • Frequency response: 56Hz – 48kHz
  • Max SPL: 101dB
  • THD < 0.9%
  • ±1.5dB high frequency boost/cut
  • Crossover frequency: 2.8kHz
  • Balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4” inputs
  • 1/8” Aux Link input and output
  • Front vent
  • Dimensions: 240 × 147 × 212mm

 

Then comes the Reveal 502:

  • 5” woofer
  • 1” soft dome tweeter
  • 50W (LF) + 25W (HF) bi-amplification
  • Frequency response: 49Hz – 43kHz
  • Max SPL: 108dB
  • THD < 0.7%
  • ±1.5dB high frequency boost/cut
  • Crossover frequency: 2.3kHz
  • Balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4” inputs
  • 1/8” Aux Link input and output
  • Front vent
  • Dimensions: 300 × 184 × 238mm

 

Are the big brother, the Reveal 802:

  • 8” woofer
  • 1” soft dome tweeter
  • 50W (LF) + 25W (HF) bi-amplification
  • Frequency response: 42Hz – 43kHz
  • Max SPL: 114dB
  • THD < 0.4%
  • ±1.5dB high frequency boost/cut
  • Crossover frequency: 1.8kHz
  • Balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4” inputs
  • 1/8” Aux Link input and output
  • Front vent
  • Rubber base for acoustic isolation
  • Dimensions: 390 × 254 × 300mm

The three monitors host a digital power supply (100–120 V or 200–240V / 50–60Hz) and the volume control is installed on the rear of each unit.
