UTILIZATION
This is a great tool to learn subtractive synthesis. All parameters are editable from the front of the keyboard, but the sound editing is much easier using software available on the Korg website (I find this more intuitive in any case, perhaps the habit of Video ...).
The MiniTouch me a little embarrassed at first but with practice I find it nice, feel nice and it is necessary to find a different set of synthetic "piano".
The limit octave is sometimes inconvenient if you want to play a bass line and a theme.
I have been slow to change "live" sound settings other than those directly accessible, and this may be where I am most disappointed if we could assign the knobs 5 of the top n ' matter what part of the patch that would have been very fatal. To change anything other than the five proposed parameters, it must return to the patch (with the large data wheel) and there ... everything is possible, provided you know where to find this, which is not obvious at first.
The main strength: the patch system, which still allows to assign the modulation wheel to what you want, and attach elements together (eg LFO -> Amplitude). This leaves a large creative freedom and the possibility of new sensations instrumental.
SOUNDS
It has been said and I confirm, the bass sounds are really good.
The sounds are not realistic at all, and if you want to emulate an organ, it will necessarily cheap whatever you do. But this is not the goal in my humble opinion.
Some presets are very typical and will be boring after a while.
There are not tons of effects but it was largely or almost.
This leaves a huge synth line to create if we take the trouble to examine the principles of subtractive synthesis. You can create a sound world without being swallowed up by a technical misunderstanding total.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 2 years now ...

The -:
- That says "mini" said Bounds
- The performance is not optimized
- The system patch is not unlimited either ...
- We manage to reach the "limits" early
Most:
- That says "mini" can also mean a fun and practical side
- If it's a toy, then this is roughly better than game boy
- THE PRICE! it's still the price of hardware soft ...
- The feeling of easily able to guide the beast after 2 years (without prior knowledge)
- The manual is clear
- Plus: the vocoder!
- Even reaching the end of technical understanding, it does not feel frustrated as long (at least not yet) because the contrary was still room to define his sound world. Very good artist and I use it is easy to understand that choice now.
Within a group, it's really a nice synth. After that, used alone, it might be a bit limited to create a piece of A to Z (quoique. ..)
At his death, I will probably miss.
