«  A Great Surprise »

Published on 12/17/13 at 07:08
A monophonic analog synthesizer to make your own patterns from the magazine Elektor there 35 years ago ...
This is rare, and in perfect condition it is even very rare in France.
It is beautiful to see, a great retro-futuristic aesthetic.
But does that sound?
The answer is yes, yes really.
The oscilloscope are stable, accurate, mixable waves of grain.
The low-pass resonant filter is deep, alive.

UTILIZATION

Its connections front open all the possibilities of an open modular system.
It's pretty simple and everything is music.

SOUNDS

This is a very pleasant surprise,
I acquired it without knowing if the sound would stand up next to other more known as the Roland Sh5, Pro-One, Moog, Arp, etc. monophonic ...
Over time I have set aside many machines to give it a central place
because it crosses the mix,
it characterizes your sequence, with its particular expressive, lively, unexpected.
Some "historical" machines can disappoint or tired, and cost an arm.
The formant is not thereof.

OVERALL OPINION

The sound quality depends greatly on the manufacturing and assembly of these modules "do it yourself". The intervention of a true professional is often desirable because the DIY has its limits.
A real musical instrument, not a mere curiosity museum synths.
His only fault is to be rare in good condition.
I tried a lot of machinery, Forming is one of my favorites.
