Monophonic analog synthesizer VCO 2/1 LP VCF / VCA 1/1 LFO. 3 octaves keyboard velocity-sensitive synth-action. CV inputs, Midi In / Out and USB (midi only USB). Ability to add CV outputs option.

UTILIZATION

The usage is really simple. The design of the synth with 4 large knobs (one per section) framed by a rose LED giving an immediate visual feedback on the position of the parameter being edited is really easy to deal with. The more adventurous go for a ride in the menus to access certain synthesis parameters, but overall most of the settings is accessible directly from the panel. The manual is clear and concise, you can quickly go to practice.

SOUNDS

So I said, "what a slap". It covers a range of varied sounds, low fat soft and thick typical "Moog", passing by snappy effects (envelopes are very fast and can create percussive sounds well, including good kicks), passing with more electronic sounds or limit trance. A versatile instrument thus to greater possibilities than it seems at first. Management keyboard velocity requires some practice (despite the setting available), but ultimately it does not bother me any more than that. The Moog filter (configurable 4, 2 or 1 pole) is there, and scanning is super fluid, no aliasing (100% similar forces) and the overload function to saturate the filter with a very musical way and very effective "dirty" sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost 1 year, when purchased Moog has announced that they stopped production, and it was my first analog (and my first Moog). And what a slap bass is super "fat" (providing a very good headphones or audio interface), it's round, it's hot and we want it is so musical. Obviously, this is not given, but the build quality Made in USA is the rendezvous. The touch keyboard (synth-action) is quite nice with just enough firmness to confirm the impression of strength generated by the beast. In its red livery, this special edition does not lack charm.
