«  Affordable good head »

Published on 08/03/12 at 19:20
Head transistor hybrid developing 500 watts into 4ohms and 350 watts into 8ohms lamp equipped with a preamp (12AX7).
Front entrance there are two active / passive, volume, a 3-band EQ bass midrange treble, a limiter switch, a bright switch and XLR DI output.
Two speaker outputs on the back size jack, an effects loop and a switch to select the voltage depending on the country where you are.
This is a head rack (2U 19 inch)

UTILIZATION

With a volume and a 3 band EQ hard to get lost, so unless you have never touched an amp is not really need the manual (in English).
The limiter is rather to protect HP, personally I use a compressor pedal format so I do not clicks. The bright brings more acute and more brilliance, personally with my cab it generates too much breath so I do not use it, but slap example we enjoyed his.
Acute low medium settings its effective flat it sounds good already, just after we get a lot of different sounds, it still lacks an up and down adjustment mediums for added versatility.

SOUNDS

This head is said to be neutral and this is the case, but unlike other models of the same brand is not cold. I plug my Fender and my active effects on the front and I get very decent sound. I have not tested the effects loop so I could not comment on its quality, but instead the DI is good, I could test it for recording.
I play mostly Metal / Hard-Core (at least in groups) and with a preamp and several effects I did not need a very typey head. I had the power and I am served with a drummer who bangs and a guitarist who plays on an Orange amp tube I have no problem making myself heard.

OVERALL OPINION

I played with for several months and I do a lot of rehearsals with, for now I have nothing to fault and I'm satisfied.
Used under 8ohms (so 350 watts) with a 4x10, I do not push the volume beyond 14H group, leaving a reserve of power without having to push to its limits.
Stored in a rack made of PVC, it is convenient to transport and is protected
Otherwise it fully meets my expectations, so the same budget I rachèterais carefree, even if eventually I plan to invest in a head with more personality.
