Hello!
We are pésence a combo delivers 340Watts all transistors via a 12-inch (B & C long coil)
Connectors on the BassCube has:
- 3 input channels (line / piezo / mic via XLRcombi / jack)
- An effects loop (adjustable output level)
- An auxiliary loop (adjustable output level)
- An active DI
- 1 line out
- An output sub (passive)
- An output sub (active)
- A tuner output
- One headphone
- 1 x footswitch
This little cube is therefore to be rather well supplied!
There is also a built-in compressor / adjustable / detachable (threshold / ratio), a notch filter adjustable / detachable (cut / freq)
In addition, masters HF and HP are individually adjustable ...
No reason not to find the desired sound!
My only complaint (if it is a) the knobs are very small ...
However, I recall that all this fits in a cube of side 40cm and weighing just 25kg ...
UTILIZATION
This combo may seem complicated with its 23 knobs, switches 9 and 3 entries ... and all that on one front ...
But by leaning on it, everything is compartmentalized, and we do not lose that much, so yes, I think this combo is easy to use
Only the "effects" may eventually built a little disturbing
Getting a "good" I do not know her, but we get by against a sound fidelity is foolproof!
A true studio monitor!
The manual (in French) is an example of clarity, and it has all the floors of the presentation of BassCube!
SOUNDS
My sound is moving towards the smooth jazz / funk / blues, or BassCube areas seems to be really comfortable!
I plug my JJ5 Moon and the result is literally stunning, ranging from round and clear dry and slamming (slap)
A wide variety of effort, without ever altering the sound of the bass!
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for two months now, replacing a triple body MESA (2 * 10 + 1 * 15) Sovtek (100 watts full tube)
What I like most about this little combo is its sound neutrality, combined with its small footprint.
The lack of power "raw" could interfere with some, but we must understand that this combo is not a fan
I tried a lot of combos and "stacks", some other more violent muffled, and I found the ultimate combo: AER BassCube
The value for money is ... especially ...
Do not forget that this amp is quite expensive (really expensive actually) but the sound is there
EDIT 06/09/2008: sold two years ago now, as not suitable for use in my group (or I prefer the rendering of an all-tube).
