lse « Great amp for apartment »

Fairly standard settings with 5 presets boxes accessible from a dial.
<strong>Theory:</strong> The amp has inputs CD / aids that are practical for work at home (CAR).
<strong>True Life:</strong> uh .. they are so noisy that these entries unusable in practice
I do not use effects pedal but for those who are in this case, it probably lacks an effects loop.
To go out on a console there is a XLR DI, (but probably only if it is to play in a group B100R is probably more appropriate is the ambiguity of the BA115, it can probably be used by a real musician, but above all an amp homework luxury)

- The right sound is direct (though the variations are rather moderate, but rather a sound jazz, blues rock, a little fat)
- The manual is brief but in any case unnecessary
The auxiliary inputs can be highly practical (I use my Mac to connect the amp to play accompaniments), but over-blowing, too bad to repeat some complicated but a little unrealistic in regular use.

What kind of sound you get and with what settings ("crystalline", "fat")?

I'm not an expert, but its very classic / vintage I like.
Its uniqueness is not only to have a good sound, warm, deep etc. .. but to have low volume (volume of apartment).
Full of amps are capable of giving a good sound, but most are zero at low volumes. The BA115 is top for that.
With what (s) guitar (s) / low (s) or effect (s) do you play?

- A Squier Vintage Modified JB
- Fender Jazz Bass Active (MIM)
Note, even if use is a bit strange, I also used a MicroPiano expander connected to a MIDI keyboard, and it works very well.
OVERALL OPINION
A further opinion beginner.
I hear the bass, I was looking for an amp that:
- Allow to have a good sound at a relatively low volume (apartment)
- Allow to have enough power to play from time to time with friends
- No vale Cheap
- Has a super mouth
- Has auxiliary inputs (for connecting to various tips, drum machine, Macintosh etc. ..)
The BA115 has all these qualities, I had less than 300 euros delivered to DV247, the sound is the hair, even at low volume (ok, the entries are rotten to ...).
The shot of the tweeter that whistles I read everywhere is largely exaggerated. It is true that this tweeter whistles, but just down the treble within 5 to make it go away without the sound it is dramatically affected. At worst simply unplug it.
Its only defect is relatively large (15 inch force) and weighs a dead donkey (30 kgs)
I feel that the criticisms that are made to this amp is relatively unfair. The BA115 is clearly a personal amplifier designed primarily to play at home and / or small group (the auxiliary jacks are the best example). For specialists there is plenty to do in the Ampeg line.
Usually people that are intended for beginner amps (me) end up with low-end devices with a toy look .. and certainly a lower label of a hundred euros. Especially we normally choose between the power that would play with friends on occasion, or no power to prevent the neighbors fired without warning.
The BA115 a more exciting alternative that works well, which qualitatively has little to do (which has power when needed but works extremely well at low volume), which is built like a tank and has a mouth of hell.
The only limit is that it takes a little space (it is a matching stool practical enough to play).
In short I would do without hesitation that choice (or perhaps the day the question arises of the choice, would I become a rock star in which case I will opt for a larger / powerful)
