«  A complete scam »

Published on 05/24/09 at 10:31
I use this drive for over 2 years.
The sound quality is pretty average. Compared to a DVD player to 30 euros, there's more levels, deeper bass and treble a little more airy. But no significant gain in terms of accuracy, the return of environments and stereo. Sound Value for money disappointing. At this rate, you'd better add a good EQ behind a DVD player, it's cheaper and it does the same thing.

Lamps add nothing, except having to wait 1 minute boot time they heat. No gain level musicianship.

But the most regrettable in terms of machine reliability. Many opinions on the internet mention a mechanical problem. Mine has the same concern. Can not read CD-R and increasingly commercial CDs do not work. Now it is even useless and even platinum accepts no CD at all. Of course this happens after the end of the guarantee and does not assume its Advance Acoustics manufacturing error. Result, 450 euros for 2 years service (and not very intense) is real abuse.

After opening the machine, he found that the mechanical and control circuit are derived from Chinese DVD players.
You now understand the observation made above.

Result, this deck (and the brand) are a total scam. Go buy a DVD player at 30 euros and put behind a floor lamp analog output, it will do the same job, more reliable and much cheaper.
