UTILIZATION
No need for manual use a DI in general.
This is normal, intuitive ...
NOTE:
1 - it is easy to press the PAD when plugge his jack. This is common on a lot of DI.
2 - Possible confusion of input with preamp in jack (not the LINK output) because the screen on the front panel.
3 - A: whether the PAD and 20 dB are pressed together, it usually works, but there's breath - it is quite logical
A checker when plugge musician and there is abnormal breath.
4 - For the power supply: each 4DI is supplied with phantom independently or possibility of a PSU sector (9 to 12V DC) to power 4 DI. Useful when you want to use the line input of a mixer that does not have phantom.
SOUND QUALITY
Currently, it is the DI that I use the most because, apart from typing in the high-end, they are the ones who give me the best sound reproduction.
IMHO it are at par with my BSS and are well above the other DI 35-60 euros you meet everywhere.
Transparent and efficient.
OVERALL OPINION
I use 5 or 6 for 10 years.
I have a lot of other DI, but they have my preference (especially sound!) When it takes several in the same corner of the stage.
LEAST: the front screen that is confusing is when musicos plugge PAD and too close to the input jack
PLUS: the sound is actually very good, not breathing and good reliability (10 years back ...). Convenient to have all four DI. Made in Italy.
The price for 4 active DI is very competitive (if you need more DI). I constantly use it live and I will continue.
