Passive DI box so it doesn't require any battery or phantom power.
I bought my first DIB-100 in 1995 and ever since I have bought several depending on my needs. I currently own four.
Four advantages:
1. High quality transformer: 5 Hz - 30 kHz with a guitar or bass; 30 Hz - 20 kHz with higher impedance.
Result: you don't have the disadvantages a active DI boxes provides and you can't get a better sound.
2. Very easy use.
3. You can connect a guitar or a speaker output to it thanks to the three attenuation stages (0, -20 and -40 dB).
4. Sturdy and virtually non destructible.
Standard features: second 1/4" jack to feed an amp, ground lift switch.
I also own two passive Millenium DI boxes. They are much cheaper but the sound quality is also much lower.
I also bought Behringer's DI-120 active dual DI box but it was useless and I threw it away.
Summary: very good DI box at an affordable price.
