Free installation problem on PC (Windows XP) and Mac (10.3.9 on PPC G4), version 1.3.2 (beta)
no incompatibility. Audacity bed, import and export WAV, AIFF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP2. The export is done with an MP3 plug'in: lame lib.
trs simple configuration and preferences, with a well-made using Adobe genre, for the moment in English (Because beta). Any fawn, the software is very simple and intuitive. You learn quickly to use trs.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
The software runs without problem on my G4 1.25 Ghz with 1 GB of Ram. The minimum is of low fawn trs (a good yet). The performance of the software tester tells me that I can run 12 tracks 16 bit 44.1 khz. I do not use it much with this software, but it looks to me correct.
For a stability goes. Some rare crashes climbed without trying to understand how the software worked, this beta version yet. Trs simple avoid crashes when you understand the false manipulaion excute just before.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 6 months and it really gnial.

+ Good software for recording, editing (new features of version 1.3, fawn video editing software (trim, etc.), export)
- Still in beta, but for how long
- Still lacks the management of a video track and become trs INTERESTED for mounting the image (version 1.4?)
for sound, I use film in post production software such as ProTools, Nuendo, Pyramix, DD 1500 (the old and robust). Obviously not see anything. Neither the prices nor for functions. Audacity is a good Swiss Army knife of sound. For small records, editing and conversion
