«  A showman! »

Comprehensive console, 60 mono or stereo tracks, good connectivity rack 48 / 8 home, I stretched out to 16, 8 in and 8 out XLR on the console, 8 AES (lack connectivity or RCA Jack local, it sometimes helps out ...), MADI connections in, out and link. A snake the size of a single cable video!
37 motorized faders, touch screen and remote keypad. Screen control option (but not essential given the amount of information easy to reach)
Brief scenes and snapshots locally (USB) or in the console
High processing capacity, 24 EQ, multiband compressor, rack of customizable effects and plugins (not yet tested)
I added the Madiface RME, connected to a laptop easily concerts I record up to 60 tracks!

UTILIZATION

Simple configure, self Adjusting system taking into account the apparatus and connected cards.
Updated more sensitive method to follow to the letter and step by step, otherwise the train crash! (I have not had this problem but it is quite known)

Clear and detailed manual reserved for English-speaking ...

The usual functions are incredibly easy to access, accustomed to analog sound guys find it in minutes. Single point confusing, until you have established his own method of work, there are several ways to achieve the same result. Redundant controls at several locations on the console, initially one would lose a little. All technicians received took the console by hand without difficulty.

SOUNDS

Converters, high-flying (floating point)
Clear sound quality, its "English", warm and dynamic.
Effective filters and effects

OVERALL OPINION

1 year, the second SD8 I buy for 2 DIFFERENT places.
I chose to face the digidesign
Easy grip, compress and EQ super efficient, warm sound.
I like the least side Christmas tree with the ignition (sometimes a bit long)
Some minor crashes, but never anything nasty

Unfortunately the technicians do not know it welcomed all, they are too used to the PM5D and tend to seek safety by yam. Yet Digico has nothing to envy! But with time, technicians will eventually see it everywhere and I hope it will appear a bit more in the tech sheets.
I had a SD8 in my previous post, I just bought one for my new site, I can only advise.
