UTILIZATION
Trs good ergonomics. The analog inputs can be Adat and routes to any track or mix any output thanks a router internal Designed trs well. Example of use: I affect output in 1 track from a song Adat to send it to an external compressor, and compresses the voice comes back from the table by a line route to a portion of the mixing console.
Only regret about the ergonomics: the knobs are not endless. To change a value displays the screen, you must first turn the knob located below this value until reaching the corresponding position, the movements are taken into account that from that time l. Same behavior for faders.
The VU meters are not very prcis but comprehensive (master of diodes, inputs, and effects on the screen).
The sync can be internal or prleve on one of the ADAT or the word clock input.
The 617 paramtres are MIDI controllable by numros customizable control change.
SOUNDS
Trs gnrale good sound is the only table numrique I use in the studio, so I have no points of comparison regarding the quality of the converters . These seem to me correct trs ...
Two effects processors are fairly gnralistes and give good rsultats. They can be set pre or post fader individually for each channel. Unfortunately there is no insert effects, you can tinker with using the gate-effect limit placed pre-fader and n'couter the output of the effect, but it is very s inlgant! It is really prfrable process dynamics taking.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for about 5 years and I still do not regret my choice. Its dual interface and Adat original routing capabilities are its main assets. In the era of this purchase, I recorded audio on a Falcon dot interface and Adat Alesis Adat one, two synchroniss, and the whole mix on the 168RC.
I would do without hsiter this choice because the alternative did not exist, except maybe be a 02R with ADAT interfaces in two more, but the bill does have four times more leve ... Today, Behringer DDX seems the only table that accepts (with option) and 16-channel ADAT.
