dj remy « ONE OF THE FIRST SAMPLERS! »
Published on 10/08/13 at 16:05Having bought in the 80s DJ COMPUTER (1200 COMPUTER) assigned to my two turntables TECHNICS SL 1200 MK2 and knowing both the seriousness of manufacture and also the seriousness and talent of its inventor Mr. Christian VALEZY, head of the business SM PRODUCTIONS based in Antibes (06), so I cracked when in the late 80s, during a SIEL (then Porte de Versailles) this gentleman, helped by ROBY one of our oldest DJ'S , made a demonstration of what was one of the first samplers BeatBreaker named No. 1.
I bled for giving me the beast but I loved creating my first remix live with this big machine like a TI of the time.
This first BeatBreaker worked in my case with a digital delay fault monacor superior to offer me better ways. I remember that it was imperative that the delay to be provided with a minimum sampling capacity of 1024 MS
UTILIZATION
Although today and taking into account technical progress, it BeatBreaker I religiously preserved that still works and I no use to me for at least fifteen years is technologically well beyond, I would like to pay tribute to its designer Christian VALEZY little man full of talent, kindness did equal the discretion which allowed us to have fun we invented in the 80s, this type of machinery and many others ...
SOUND QUALITY
Sensitive keys allowed the time to choose the time duration of the loop to make (two times, one time, one time Half, Three Quarter Time).
Of course, at the time the sample was held while the song continued to play. The hardest part was well synchronized when the loop relaxed but knowing his song came on quickly create samples and perfect curls!
OVERALL OPINION
then there have been several versions of this BeatBreaker "BB1" with probably more options and capabilities but I've never tested model other than the first.
