hello,
I had the NS6 to last Christmas (2011).
That makes one years ago that I use this machine.
I chose because I was seduced by his side parcequ'elle transportable but also works with serato software (itch), it has 4 tracks (be to put two turntables or one microphone and sampler. ..).
I also especially stopped my choice on this model becaufe NUMARK offers 3 years warranty on the model! For me it meant that the product was robust and reliable.

Well surprise, after 6 months of regular use, 1 time a week and a little more during the summer season, July 23, 2012 during a delivery to a customer, right mix, one of the adjustment knobs on the pitch the + right, remained depressed! Specifically, it was broken!
And As the summer is the 4 buttons adjustments either 2 + and 2 - we find that each side is also broken. It was too much hassle to lug mixed in!

I assure you that my use is not very violent, I do not scratch with, I only mix, I do not abuse my equipment, I need for my professional activity, I am entrepreneur and is my only material mix!! (I invested to buy this stuff! Understand you)

I insist on the fact that buttons CUE / SYNC + and - its plastic and are solid at all!!

So I contact the service in September (after the season) to run the warranty, I sent it there for two weeks before that, I had weekly needs and therefore I could not separate in .
Now receiving mail service that tells me that the warranty does not support this service. BILL 119 euros. : (

conclusion:
Now I understand that this machine is not reliable for a pro, the 3 year warranty is a sham. It is neither more nor less That a great trick because you can always find a good reason for you to be the culprit when it comes to kick a problem of robust product (plastic snap buttons after 6 months! unimaginable!)

Now if I had a choice again, I would buy one without thinking solutions classical either 900 or CDJ Pionner with another in the table goes with it. A classic choice, more expensive but trustworthy! With reliable real buttons!

The Numark NS6 is a DJ Controller and Mixer that is very versatile. I have not seen many similar consoles that can do everything the NS6 can do, and do it fluidly. Using the mixer is very easy, it comes with a software called Serato which could take some time to understand if you have not used I before. The software appears to be very stable so far and has not presented any issues. It only takes a few minutes to set up the whole system and sync the software with the hardware and you will be up and running in no time. The mixer has 2 microphone inputs and 2 inputs for turntables. The main controls on the deck are beat grid, pitch control, instant looping, hot cues and key lock. One thing about the Numark NS6 is that you will learn to use it very quickly if you are new to using these types of consoles.

The wheels on the Numark NS6 are based off of another Numark model, the V7. I was very familiar with the V7 and the NS7 before getting the NS6, they where pretty much the reason why I ended up getting the Numark NS6. The Mixing unit seems to be pretty well built. I think this mixing console will last a long time as long as you are not too harsh on it. With the price of the NS6 being almost a thousand dollars, you really don’t want to take a chance with banging it around too much.

All of the deck controls are very good and are better than previous models from Numark, they have made small changes to the NS6 but those changes make a major difference.
You will need a solid computer when running this set up, preferably with a Pentium processor, try to stay away from AMD processors because I have heard some bad things about using the Numark NS6 with them. If you have a solid computer then this set up is for you. Read your computer specs before you purchase.

How long you use it?
6 months to prepare my home studio mixes and a few evenings or SERATO I landed in the hard and they had no authority to connect an SERATO SL ...
To mix the basic tempo NS6 is nickel. PITCH is the feeling of really EXCELLENT for a controller.
As soon as you accelerate and wants to make complicated trix on the fly (any manipulation Hotcue and loops on the fly from the CDJ 1000) shows little NS6 the ergonomic and intuitive.
What is so special that you love the most, least?
MOST SERATO immediate compatibility (since I'm on Mac and I gave TRAKTOR PRO). Perfect stability and integration in the software MAC.
MASTER OUTPUT XLR table is no problem comparable to the level exit DJM1000 it makes very well on large systems: for against the preamp analog inputs of the table are clearly lightweight manquend of Parate with respect to references Club DJM 800 A & E.
Accustomed to a PIONEER filters and effects of internal DERATO are very intuitive and sound BAD, and the CUE / LOOP controller are really not very ergonomic.
BONUS: the ergonomics and accuracy of pitch and jog without PB equivalent to CDJ 400.
For me the LEAST PLAY LOOP CUE buttons are really HOT CUE improvement (compared to a CDJ 1000).
Similarly there's no VU meters on the tracks which is really annoying to its current levels of mix when you're used to tables PRO!

- How long you use it?
I use mainly NS6 at home for 8 months now and am overall very satisfied.

- Did you tried many other models before buying it?
I previously tried the Hercules controllers but also the Numark MIXDECK I always have and also had the opportunity to test the Pioneer DDJ-S1.
I usually use 1 and 2 CDJ2000 CDJ850 with DJM800, this combo is actually better than NS6 but the price is not the same, the space either.

- What is so special that you love the most, least?
I find that the NS6 stands up very well, the product seems quality, with a light up solid. Everything is well done and well done.
I really regret the absence of a party sampler, and I would not have chosen the same LED colors (including red) but it is a matter of taste.
It is better finished than the Pioneer and I find it more convenient.

- How would you rate the quality / price? With experience, you do again this choice?
I think this is a very good price / quality ratio as offers almost all features of Itch, the best product available in my experience.
I can now orienterai on Track 4, preferring the possibilities of mapping Traktor because it really similar.

I use it for over a month now. I personally marked by the build quality is frankly the heavy, no plastic than metal!, Buttons hard but very very responsive, no bug (when updates are made). The trays have a crazy and responsiveness are very nice (what I feared from the two vinyl Vestax PDX D3). The effects commands are very simple and allows a very nice response. CUE points and LOOP are bloody and allow super original mixes can be squarely create his own sound.
Serato software very easy to access, it requires the heavy hand in terms of power, forget about AMD or the lower 2GHz Core2Duo (2.17Ghz is the limit!)

I tried PIONEER DJ T1, I really have not been convinced by the lifetime of the product or the positioning of tools or special software by PIONEER that no longer exist in six months, then put 0 to date.

Finally the report is honest money for his 8/10kg: Mix 1 table + 2 plates = 990euros.
The only problem that NS6 is that it is a dirty NUMARK brand, the brand that everyone ... does not want, and usually I am quite agree with everyone.

Heavy use for 15 days, with three nights under my belt with this material

Previously, I started with consoles Hercules (DJ Console RMX and then 4MX, the most successful).
Then I tested with Scratch Live and a TTM 57 CDJ800 MK1 and Traktor Scratch Pro with Audio 8DJ, the CDJ 400 and a mixer Pioneer DJM 600.

What I like: the provision of equipment, the size of the buttons and their provisions, their reactivity regardless of the software used (VDJ, Traktor and better: ITCH, in serato is a must for me now), the jogs react excellent way mode with Traktor Scratch st ITCH.

The controller is a certain weight, so we have a very stable area, and the choice of materials of construction provide a very professional style, not plastic.

The outputs provide a high level XLR symmetrical; RCA outputs are also available (Booth and Master System).

The knobs are responding very well, and the faders / cross faders are very good.

In short, for my part, I almost bought the latest addition to Novation, the Twitch, but ultimately, I do not regret this purchase at all.
Another advantage: I still have my CDJ 400, I can use with the mixer in NS6 independent, which allows not to use the computer or change software without interrupting the music ... is very convenient. One trouble with a computer in the evening, and just go on CD or vinyl ....

Also note that for transport, I found it quite clever (and cheaper) to use a flight case guitar, where I can drag the cables, the wireless microphone, etc..

I think I finally found the material that satisfies me the most. I do not intend to reinvest in something else now.
The price is obviously quite high, but we actually pay for.
