On a practical level:
The hole for optionally placing a microphone is small but enough to move the arm if you put a little "coverage" in the bass drum and want to replace it correctly. Deplus the hole is reinforced by a plastic contour, so the micro tears falling and the skin is less likely.
PS: for those who notes rating on the material: if it is to say "it's crap" ... do not notice anything because you do not understand.
