I recieved a pair of AHEAD 5B drumsticks as a birthday present. I checked and found that they cost around $30 a pair.

These drumsticks are great for the modern drummer: they don't break even under the greatest pressure, and if you do break a tip, you can replace both tips for $1! That spells good drumming to me. These sticks are also easier on you hands than the traditional wood pair. This comes in handy when playing those long sessions. My drummer friends all love the look of these and have purchased some themselves.

There really isn't much that I don't like about these sticks. The only real complaint that I have is they are tough to get used to. Once you get used to them though, watch out.

Like I mentioned previously, these sticks are very hard to break. They are the Hummer of drummsticks. They are constructed using a three piece system which works great. The transitions between the pieces are very smooth which really helps out.

These sticks are great for rock. If you are a jazz drummer, you might want to stay with a Zildjian anti-shock stick. Every rock drummer should own a pair of any AHEAD sticks.
