«  Always an exceptional machine! »

Quite simply, today (in 2011) there is still no equivalent on the market, apart from the Tascam to 6000euros HS-8, or a computer with all the rubbish.

8 inputs, 8 outputs separated in analog, digital, in real multitrack to the re-re, there is not.

UTILIZATION

Once you get immersed in the logic of the device is powerful yet accessible. Some manipulations less intuitive than others but you get used very quickly.

SOUNDS

Converters (8 A / N and 8 N / A) are escellents, even the current standard: transparent and inviting all at once. In fact, the DA-78 can now serve superb converter 8 channels for one low price!

OVERALL OPINION

Even Nagra VI and others (too oriented film and more than 6500 €) do not offer features, including separate outputs have no possibilities of re-recording.

In short, this machine is absolutely outstanding and has never been replaced in terms of usability and sound quality. Just a small revision from time to time, nothing nasty, and here we go: Power - Rec. Stop, Play - Mix. Try doing that with a PC!
