Opto compressor. Threshold, attack release and output ..... ratio in Db Db out that for the determination of compression ratio between the signal to enter and the output signal. Quite well on a stereo mix. The mastering is not the big thing of this machine, but it can be used.
UTILIZATION
No manual for me, but very simple!
SOUND QUALITY
The sound is very punchy. It is a little (I mean a little!) In a way its very percussion API 2500. The spectrum is very well respected, and you really push to have the effect of pump.
On rhythmic, funky, it's resort room. Super also voices tonic rocks ... Also low, that severe attack!
I have a friend who has mastered over a hip hop album, and frankly, the result was the appointment. No loss on the master. It was a few roots to come, but cool!
I have not yet used on many things, but I would do an update later!
OVERALL OPINION
Extremely versatile tool, very late 70's early 80's, 80's, but in a good way. I mean by that is in the material gives punch to everything that goes into it. This compressor used mainly for the board, or audiovisual mix in the 80 (3 in France was stuffed for example!), Proves to be very musical and rich. This makes today a camera and a little cult-side! That said, even for 600 euros, people come here fast enough. Amateurs of his very round and voluptuous, go your way, or supplement your equipment fleet to a tube compressor for another color.
