EastWest launches a subscription system

EastWest follows the new trend and launches the ComposerCloud subscription plan that allows anyone to access all their sound libraries.

The new EastWest ComposerCloud opens its doors to all Gold editions of EastWest/Quantum Leap instrument collections through a monthly subscription system. EastWest has thought of musicians and composers who cannot afford or sporadically use their sound libraries.

The ComposerCloud currently features 9,000 virtual instruments, and subscribers will automatically discover any new release. EastWest is even planning on releasing some libraries only on this Cloud.

In use, you’ll download the libraries and the Play software to your computer, which allows you to work offline, you’ll only need to log in to the Installation Center once a month to renew your license/subscription. Authorizing the libraries can be done either with an iLok Key or directly on the computer (only one computer per account). EastWest adds in its FAQ that if you cancel your account, you won’t loose your compositions but won’t be able to access the libraries for new projects. They even recommend you to render your current projects to your DAW before canceling the subscription.

Note that the current sale system will remain available, and you can contact EastWest if you want to upgrade the Gold versions to the Diamond or Platinum editions of the libraries.

Two subscription offers are available: for $29.99/month, you’ll get 7 libraries, and full access costs $49.99/month. If you already are an EastWest customer, you get a special price of $29.99/month for the first year for full access if you subscribe prior to April 24th. More info at www.soundsonline.com.
