The Nord Drum 2 provides two more channels compared to the first version, for a total of 6 and its audio engine now includes resonance modeling, substractive and FM synthesis, a Noise section with high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filters. A bit crusher and a non-linear distortion can also be applied on each channel.
The 6 generic trigger inputs can be used with electronic pads and trigger mics used with acoustic drums. The MIDI integration allows for using the Nord Drum 2 from an external controller of MIDI pads and you can use the MIDI output to turn the module into a Trigger-to-MIDI interface.
The Nord Drum 2 can also be expanded with the new Nord Pad, which provides 6 trigger pads and connects to the first via a dedicated Ethernet port.
Both drum modules will be available in May, Clavia announces a US price of $599 for the Nord Drum 2 and $399 for the Nord Pad.
