* What characteristics have motivated your choice?
I chose this card especially for its preamps, Mackie signed, and deemed good (in fact I was not disappointed!)
* For what purpose?
I use it in home studio to record demos, good model (for soliciting, listening on the net) or simply ask ideas.
* What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Hard ,...)?
So there I am not a madman config ... Of a MacBook Core Duo 1.8 Ghz 2006, and boosted in RAM (2GB)
* Which instruments or systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) do you use the connection and how? ...
What connection? Firewire to connect to the computer and connect an XLR microphone (an electrostatic in CAD), and then the guitars / bass etc.. Very few electronic instruments.
The card comes with the software "Tracktion" home Mackie
UTILIZATION
Everything is pretty stable, I had only one problem in 3 years (a big "boom" in my speakers, and the card unusable for 1 hour or 2 ... I never knew where that had)
For recording simultaneously, it's 2 tracks max, convenient for a guitar / vocals live, or mix sounds for an acoustic guitar for example, a microphone and a rose placed in front of static guitar.
It can record just about everything, except a battery (though with a good stereo pair?)
GETTING STARTED
No inconsistency in the map, everything works perfectly stroke Logic Express, Garageband, and even iTunes.
Tracktion 2 only, comes with the card is incompatible with Macs.
OVERALL OPINION
So I use it since 2008, so almost 3 years. I'm not an expert in home studio either, but it does everything I ask him ...
The preamps are very good (no, this is not a Avalone either, but for the price, it goes as well!)
A small latency can be heard on the recording, but it must come from my computer, which is not a powerhouse.
The value price is right, I think I could have no more than 2 tickets for the price.
With experience, this choice I would do without hesitation!
