UTILIZATION

I plugged into my computer (do not forget to download any latest drivers from Alesis on their website prior to ac), and does everything by itself. apparently it's not the case for everyone, but for me no problem. ika's not a piece of furniture, anything.

the manual is in French trs limited and rather zero. The reference manual is in English and is fairly complete. the "troobleshootings" (frquents problem) you take a little time for a con ("problem: the table does not turn; diagnosis: How well is connected to AC power?").

with respect to the tale I suppose it works like any other mixers, and that's really not complicated. I had some confusion as gentleman below me with the main mix and ctrl room but you soon realize. (There's also a top issue on the forums).

then the lil program about the driver can configure qques lments (latency, bit rate) simply trs. there's no configurable options bcp but I guess qu'y'a qu'y'en no reason to have more. it melts cubase without any problem (I use no small LE comes with all zero but a big fat SX2).

SETTING THE card to allow me to go without bug 2ms latency. pretty cool right? yet my config is not monstrous laptop toshiba centrino 1.7 ghz with 1GB of RAM. Only if this latency is actually low trs on cubase, I do not explain it but I can not drive down to wavelab. it is standard (like 1s). Who knows ...

edit: I described all this in a lil problem with his (blocking qques milliseconds every 2 or 3 minutes) I thought of a configuration problem. in fact not. I asked the technical support alesis which tells me it's my firewire cable which is a 6 pin / 4 pin (no choice on a laptop), and advises me to buy one of the coup PCMCIA card with a 6-pin socket.
ca frankly bored, and my bill is going to fall ...

yes, I would say no more. basically it is ptetre shit I know.

and then for pramps I really px not comment either. by plugging my guitar and pushing back the gain even get a nice distortion but not at all (logical, not for AC). to bring the guitar live, it is better to let the gain 3 / 4 and use a VST amp simulation genre.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about two months.
I like: it does everything I wanted it to do, it's a good sound card, and there are plenty of buttons (and I like it when there are plenty of buttons).
I do not like: the farmhouse, ketchup and filet-o-fish
before buying it, I had a sound card edirol DA-24/96 that satisfy me fully, but I changed to this one because I spent a laptop config. pramps now I have two more, and a mixer. I see a level no real diffrence.
qualitprix excellent report. plus ca not seem to be sham. there's not as versatile as the price l.
c'tait choose carefully rflchi for quite some time. I chose the 8 tracks instead of 12 because I wanted to carry it often and that was enough for me 8 tracks ca. exprience with this choice I do it again without hsitation.

edit: this problem (see use) compltement change my view of the product, I wanted to have a system that works perfectly but I sound cuts right rgulires against which I do nothing px except by purchasing more stuff. I am a student, not rich, not happy.
