TopicPosted on 01/15/2004 at 19:13:22anyone TOTALLY new to this???
I am a songwriter who wants to start recording my
music from my computer, and I am a total beginner.
I know nothing! :D What equipment and software do
I need to get started?? Can I do any recording from
the Linux running system and where do I start?
Yeah,some info would be great.
Thanks ;)
Thanks for the compliments :-)
I am grown in a communist system thus learned to abhorr any sort of Dogmatism ;-)
Packman is great but not as concentrated on pro-apps, thus often overrun by users and it is not as easy to find the needed libs/helperprogs to fullfill the dependencies. As Thac does.
I will check the FTP-recources you mentioned, i only browsed the normal 8.2-Directories so far.
I am very pleased to hear, that Linuxaudiostuff is about to have more focus on this site.
I look forward to help noobs and find answers to my own questions.
Right now i am searching for a solution to this one:
When i open a project in ARDOUR, that i have recorded the other Day, ARDOUR fails to steram the tracks correctly to JACK, thus there is nothing to hear even though everything looks fine in qjackcontrol.
I have to set each Track to "out 1" and reassign stereotracks afterwards in the routingdialog by hand.
Quite frustrating, if you have about 32 tracks and all the panorama-Settings are gone also...
