Published on 10/06/12 at 00:27I just bought this case announced: "Gibson Type 335".
Contrary to what is said is not a case for specific ES 335.
In reality it is a standard guitar case full crate large (16 inches, 42 cm at the widest point) and high (up to almost 12 cm). which has been adapted for this purpose: the two support cradles the neck and are shifted a little oblique thickening was added to the heel to the junction box handle.
Unfortunately, this adaptation is poorly thought out. the guitar is clamped at the level of the handle to the closure pressure of the cover on the handle. the body of the guitar, quite properly seated sideways (despite a game-cm) is in the vacuum below 3 or 4 cm above and 1 or 2 cm. This means that in case of severe shock (eg falling flat) inertial all the guitar (badly) chances of breaking the handle junction box or crate to explode.
So do not use this case for type ES 335 (and even less for smaller body ES).
Damage yet because the case seems rather well done. For "full body" of course. For example, my big gypsy folk my big size and my big jazz to enter comfortable, although they prefer their own case.
I said that my ES dimensions are exactly the type.
Even with foam wedges, not obvious to realize the protection still seems random. I decided to return the case to its distributor.
