This is an analog compressor
Small box that does not look but is tough.
Access to the battery is not great: how long before the threads of the screw plastic renders the soul?
Personally, it is in any case external power supply via input 9v.
This is my ninth Danelectro pedals and so I knew what to expect: it makes the job well for a great price reasonable.
2 years, none dropped me. on the other hand, it is the second that I have to be replaced because it did not work coming out of the box. So I think that there is no control in production line output. This can explain the price of these mini-mini-dano ....
UTILIZATION
2 knobs: Level, which functions as a volume and Sensitivy that regulates the amount of compression.
Simple and effective!
SOUND QUALITY
As with my other Dano, I found what I wanted: it is transparent when the effect is not Inrush and I 'get it easily a nice effect when I use it: it's warm, musical, natural ...
Warning: nothing to do with compression of heavy metal
Here, no effect beef but just enough to get a result that is both effective and unobtrusive
The Surf 'n'Turf can thicken the sound slightly, and the booster (if you want to use it as a booster).
This is especially a welcome effect on the Danelectro guitar that sounds very "dry" at the origin: we gain and sustain softness without altering the character of the lipsticks.
OVERALL OPINION
I tried other compression pedals guitar and I have another compressor (Aphex Systems 1404 punch factory) in my pedal set. To sound "vintage", the Surf'n'Turf the job done better than the Aphex is optimized for acoustic electric.
This pedal is perfect on 56Pro DC12 or if I can not really open the amp, I let the effect Inrush time. If I can open the amp, it serves as a booster for solos.
A € 28, what can we dream of more? And especially since the expensive compression pedals I tried were not very well to get the sound I like.
I'm a fan of those little pedals: what is next?
