A small review on this pedal chorus / Univibe analog mono, made in china.
True bypass switch, 1 switch chorus / vibrato, 3 pots: speed which is the speed (of course), depth on depth course, and hue that changes the color of the pulse, which gives the famous phase difference between the low and acute specific to the Univibe.
An inlet, an outlet, a standard 9V power supply jack, if possible isolated as very sensitive.
An expression pedal input would be welcome to help vary the effect in real time ... Packaging of apparent good quality.

UTILIZATION

This effect is up, according to the tastes, before or after a distortion pedal or fuzz. Placed before the effect is sent to modulate the intensity of the fuzz such that the saturation level of the latter will also vary to a very friendly and pulsating color.
Placed after the sound will be giving a full color embedded in swirling effect.
Since I do not have a preference on my pedalboard at home I put the two configurations: a fuzz factory clone before (this pedal does not support anyway no pedal upstream) and 69 clone fuzz behind.
The chorus is a misnomer. In fact it is more akin to a frequency modulation (vibrato so just ...). In this mode, it is better not to abuse the speed and depth, if station nausea. By mode vibrato against the best sensations are obtained with a speed between 8am and 12am, the boos almost fully and depth between 10 and 16h.

SOUND QUALITY

To be frank and honest, I do not use the chorus mode, I do not like. Good thing I have bought for her fashion Univibe, it is realistic. It does not pretend to compete with the big boys like 5 times more expensive, but it is damn well the taff. This effect is all highly addictive way.

One big flaw, even if it is supposedly part of the vintage charm breath quite pronounced especially if the fuzz is placed in front, and the lack of armor: it is very sensitive to power other pedals and a little too "radiating" (eg pedals or tube amps). For breath, a decimator has finally solved the problem, it is also the place farther away from electro magnetic sources.

OVERALL OPINION

I much preferred the BBE Soul Vibe, in the same price range. If you want to type a nice Univibe hendrixiens few solos, this is ideal. In addition you can put the money saved to afford the Strat '56 and fuzz face that goes with it.
To find it is not simple: it is not currently distributed in Europe.
