Virtual Decadence

See the previous opinion ... it is to him that I bought.
This is the old model that differs Double Cat, if I remember correctly, only the vibrato which has a wide bar that really Bigsby and the magnificent double binding.
UTILIZATION
This guitar is one of the most fun to play ... I know with my other Duesenberg (Starplayer TV + Chris Whitley). Access to acute way is to go beyond teasing the 19th box but it's worth a Les Paul.
The sound is beautiful with all the amps, same transistor, and all configs microphones.
SOUNDS
Good as I give my opinion on the exact same guitar as the previous opinion, I will speak only one point which may interest people who wonder what Duesy choose.
I totally agree with the opinion of Espelette on the plus side "pop / rock", a hint of Fender and a touch of Ricken (not just the look). especially compared to a Starplayer that has exactly the same config in classic Duesenberg pickups: the more-than-convincing Grand Vintage Humbucker in bridge and neck in fantabuleux DP90.
I like to summarize my feelings on the Double Cat talking to a kind of Thinline Stratocaster (except it does not exist to my knowledge). But a hybrid between a Tele and a Rick 360 is also an image that reminds me. One day I tried the Telecaster Thinline Duncan equipped Semour a friend (who never wanted to sell it to me) and I totally flashed. It made me the same effect. This mixture of twang you'd expect from a Fender and a depth alongside of Semi-hollow (hollow half French).
And with a humbucker in the bridge I did not side 'of wallpaper off "treble a Tele neck pickup.
It sounds so divinely on a Vox amp. Even my Pathfinder transistor (but of course my AC15C1 braight modded with lights worthy of the name is ecstasy). It sounds great with all kinds of distortion, overdrive, Big Muff (Sovtek clone for me).
Compared to Starplayer: I operate better config Central (DP90 + humbucker split). It's been less "out of phase" strat least to Dire Straits, perhaps more Telecaster actually. In single neck pickup, I'm also less in his blues / jazz. She keeps a sharp edge. With a large distortion, the side of the blues done quickly Starplayer slush in P90 neck pickup (this tells me I also like). Not on the Double Cat.
In humbucker alone, the two find themselves a lot.
So yes it is better to say for his rock / pop.
I am such a fan of micro Domino P90 in Duese that I intended to mount with 2 instead of a P90. But ultimately it's perfect like that.
So look for videos of Joe Walsh. He plays with a concert promoting his latest album (Analog Man).
OVERALL OPINION
I did that very recently but I've played live with. A treat.
I'm definitely a fan of this brand and I do not want to stop at two
At the price I got it, it's not even a case, it's robbery. I had trouble understanding how anyone could part with such a guitar. But at the same time the friend has other Duesy Espelette.
Hey it was a spontaneous purchase unreasonable (in the midst of funding holiday) and I had to optimize the WAF for having ... I gave my wife. In case of divorce, she will have custody. She did a concert with. She is a singer but liked to accompany with my Duesenberg instead of his usual sound. And she dreamed of a Rick 360 (except that given its size, it would have been more behind) Her little hands have adopted it for good. Arghhh!
I was afraid of having a useless whim but in fact this guitar is a perfect complement to my other Duesy. The Starplayer replace my old Gretsch (both twangy and bluesy as microphones), the Fender Twin Cat a ... and both can do without a Gibson for leads saturated acute humbucker position.
If you are looking for an excellent and beautiful guitar you like the looks at the Rickenbacker Fenderien and sounds, it's worth it to throw a few fingers and ears on this Double Cat. Of course, I evoke sounds that speak to everyone or almost Duesy but now have enough personality so that one day we stop comparing them to U.S. brands. In addition, they have one of those looks (see pictures in my profile).
If I had to redo this choice, I would have no kind of hesitation. And if I divorce (God forbid), I bought a praying that the news have the same qualities as the first model in 2005.
