Published on 02/21/14 at 01:33Substantial information already given this model by Montaigne (see below). In addition, here, some that I could raise my Goya Control Quadrant is 1092 model B (blonde).
It was the high-end series Rangemaster Hollow Body. So it has similarities with the models 109 and 107 (see descriptions and pictures of these models) and 105. But it brings some improvements, especially with regard to electronics.
As Montaigne has done for models 109 and 1092, I propose, in addition, a comparative Goya 107 with 1092.
UTILIZATION
Head:
This is the standard head series Goya Rangemaster Hollow Body characterized by the golden underneath the logo Goya, whose graphics reproduced signature of the Spanish painter (photos) guitarist.
The neck is maple with one reinforcing ply mahogany. This is a very nice playing bolt-on neck, fine, straight, easy to adjust with the adjusting rod (truss rod)
The fingerboard is rosewood with a tuning fork 63cm (middle middle nut & bridge).
22 frets with a width at nut 42mm.
Checkout:
It is made entirely in a beautiful flamed maple with 2 canted Florentine XVII box. The color is blond 1092 B. The thickness of the body is 4.8 cm.
The vents are normally centered with respect to the trestle in contrast to the models that push button (105-107-109)
The bridge is the type modern Tune-O-Matic
Type Bigsby tailpiece (which does not appear on the Goya Rangemaster catalogs from 1968 to 1970 I own) is not the strong point of the instrument as it is very efficient.
NB: these guitars also exist without vibrato.
The serial number of the guitar is visible on the handle screw plate which is fixed to the body.
SOUNDS
Electronics:
4 half microphones: handle (4-3) and bridge (2-1) are connected to two switches with 3 positions,
9 combinations of pickups are possible:
1-2-3-4 / 1-2 / 1-4 / 2-3 / 3-4 which correspond to the 5 pre-selections 105-107-109 models.
In this model there is the possibility of using three microphones at once instead of two other models which gives four additional combinations:
1 +2 +3 / 1 +4 +2 / 3 +4 +1 / 3 +2 +4
Or 9 possible combinations of microphones
4 volumes separate microphones (1 volume assigned to each microphone). They vary very much, their effectiveness is limited.
1 master volume (switch On / Off), very effective and useful.
For tone: 1 selector 3 positions: HML. the same pre-corrections on other models
It sounds perfect with a Twin, ditto with Trace Acoustic and Jazzement well on a Polytone
Build a sound is a personal process related to wood, the electronics of the guitar but also to style, materials used, touch the musician. We can surely say that it is a versatile guitar, the sound processing possibilities offered are numerous and pickups (single coil) are of quality with its "dive" well defined. If the quality is there, the rest is a matter of taste and choice.
OVERALL OPINION
This model worth 1968 (without vibrato): $ 347 / $ 399 in case. In 1970 he was worth (again without vibrato): $ 388 / $ 440 in case.
NB: Case ref. No. 620 Catalogue Goya (plus various accessories). It was worth in 1968 (and 1970): $ 62 sold separately. To my knowledge there were two models of iPhone, pretty impressive with a specific shape (see photo 2 mine)
NB: It took redo all the electronics for the selectors were oxidized. The connection is very complex (see diagram made by a friend, published for all purposes).
In conclusion this is definitely a great guitar, as the whole series, too.
Everything is done seriously. The sounds are very good even when played acoustically the guitar sounds. There is little difference qualitatively with the 107 (which I have already described), each has its own personality, 1092 offers a wider range of sounds. Aesthetically it is a success. It is a pleasure to play on this guitar and can share it with other rare owners.
If by happy chance you find one in good condition, do not hesitate. This is a guitar high in the category of half cash.
