«  Back to the 50s »

Enough said, mine is version V0S and date of 2008. Wood is beautiful, it is in the very high end. Note that some criticism of these guitars come from people who do not know much and who lament varnish discolors at the handle, but you do not buy a guitar from 2010, but a copy of the 50's, built in spirit of the time. I still is not certain that electronics is perfectly true.
The aesthetic is gorgeous, I was reluctant with regard to the Gold Top that I found kitsch, but in the end c'esst beautiful and it changes constantly, depending on the light.

UTILIZATION

The handle is excellent, of course, it is not for girls-fed sleeve Ibanez, but it remains very comfortable and a good player has to adapt to each guitar. Although solid, the guitar is lighter than most LP dug. This is where we feel the quality of wood and rigorous selection. For the rest, the interface is that of an LP, we like it or not.

SOUNDS

Contrary to the belief of those who have not tested, the P90 has a high output level, even more than some humbucker. Beware, it hums a bit when it was still too close to the amp. For the rest, it's very versatile (and not versatile!), Blues, hard rock, passing for jazz, we can do many things, even if these are microphones of character. Note that the level of output is slightly lower than my SG Classic. Hence suggesting that Gibson is aging the coils to simulate the age of the guitar ... I especially like the clear sound and light crunch (ah, the solo of Another Brick in the Wall ...)
I use it with different amps, including Bogner, Marshall, Fender and Dupont.

OVERALL OPINION

Is an instrument unfortunately expensive, but quality is a bit above a basic LP. Originally, I wanted a P90 LP, out, apart from models not terrible at entry level, only 56 was available. It has imposed itself. I love the authentic look, sound and quality. I would not buy more than one new LP base when you see the R6-7-8 used in the same price.
