Published on 12/09/11 at 02:33A priori the Special Jet is a beginners guitar, but not top CHRE not. But the 5259 (or the black version, the 5250) is VERY specially! First violin making: Unlike other Special Jet, the body is a sheet of solid mahogany set neck with the quality and not so screwed as a LP Special, arson vacuum, vibration, big sustain. Then the microphones: instead of blah-blah gnriques, the team is made DeArmond 2000 in United States recognize that every gretschomaniaques well they reproduce the timbre of Dynasonic vintage. The finish is simple, not COD, but correct, the varnish may be a little too Paisse but poses, two knobs (volume and tone), not high end but that work fairly well.
UTILIZATION
Channel 22 boxes fine enough but not too comfortable plutt can be rgler action low enough and the heel does not impede Access in treble. More than lgre LP though not the guitar room is like sitting upright balance. The bridge is a wraparound, but no problem of intonation, we can possibly put a mesh floor so ncessaire. As against the advantage of such a bridge (in addition to the sound) is comfort for the right hand that fits derrire without pressing on the strings or tailpiece. Trs enjoyable!
SOUNDS
I play rock / blues with a Gibson Rivera. I bought this Gretsch for a more rockabilly and the fact (the 5129 would be nice too, but I do not like the size of these hollowbodies). I think the rise in net flat to sound even more Cliff Gallup, but as is with slapback I rgale in the clear. The DeArmond are simple pchus as P90 but with a pure timbre trs, the jangle and twang galore, perfect for the country as well. In addition to the pads are adjustable with high precision, allowing her to have exactly the DSIR. The crunch is gnial and well saturated but a shame because it's not the spirit of these microphones.
OVERALL OPINION
After a few months of daily use I am always satisfied. It is a simple but effective tool, manufactured in China but of quality. The report qualitprix n'tait not unusual when its output has stood at 600 700 euros by store, but since 2007 and stopped its production (due to the release of 5125/29 ) became excellent in time.
