« a copy of super goldtop »
Published on 01/28/12 at 06:51more info circulating on the place of manufacture of L90
They were originally manufactured by Hohner UK in the 80s (unconfirmed info)
For more against some, a second production would have started in the 90 first in Japan then was transferred to Korea in 92. They appear in a test in Guitarist magazine 94. Following a lawsuit from Gibson, the production was stopped.
Compared to a les paul "official", the design of the contour is very well respected and the shape of the handle but the thickness of the body is somewhat lower.
Mine has a serial number on the plate for access to potentiometers. It appears to be stained maple (body and neck) and finish is beautiful goldtop.
It is equipped with micro type P90 (p90 changed in seymour duncan on my model by the previous owner)
UTILIZATION
the handle is super comfortable (Gibson copy of the profile). Following is a les paul with its advantages (sound, look, etc.) and disadvantages inherent in the design (access to high).
SOUNDS
the typical les paul equipped with p90: a treat
OVERALL OPINION
As production ceased fairly quickly, they are quite rare and have a very good side of okaz because they are great guitars, if you find one, jump on it
